Is anyone still watching this?
>>42148>The transformation animation bias upsets me.I think it's hilarious. It's like in Smile, where everyone gets a kickass transformation scene except for Reika.
>>42149This is one thing that upsets me about the show, it's like it forget there are other Saints than Kouga, Yuna, and Souma. Haruto gets some screen time but it barely feels like he has much presence, Ryuho got decent screen time during the school parts but after that they wrote him off because of his sickness, Eden is still evil, and while I mentioned Souma earlier he has more presence than Haruto but still feels like he's just there.
I've decided to continue to watch Saint Seiya, as this week's episode was fucking awesome. It's just too bad Souma left the team.I wish this show would be more consistently good, the difference in quality and direction between episode 18 and 16 is so big they could've been from two separate series. >>42149Ryuho is returning next episode. I'm assuming they're aiming for the water place now that they've done all the other elements. Lightning place and Eden is obviously last.
Bah humbug. Anyone else irked by the fact that Ryuuhou didn't plucked his eyes out? He was even up against the Perseus saint, ffs!
Why Omega ;_;
The next season is almost upon us, and thus it is time for a new thread.Fate/Zero is about the only must-watch in there for me.Might take Upotte, Hyouka, Tasogare OxA, Jormungand, Acchi Kocchi and Nazo no Kanojo for a spin, see if they're any good, though I don't expect any of them to blow me away. The whole season looks a bit average, really, but someone winds up saying that every season, so whatever.
>>42617Don't think you have to worry about a second season when they're done with the source material, spinoff aside.Hyouka is by far the show I've enjoyed the most this year. I never expected Takemoto and Gatoh to work together at KyoAni again, and I'm glad to see they're as good a team as they used to be. There's no reason to complain about FMP anymore if they produce stuff like this instead. Kadokawa can keep being an asshole about their IP for all I care, KyoAni's talented enough to make an excellent show out of an average mundane mystery novel.
>>42618Fair enough. What was it about Hyouka that you enjoyed so much?It had a few good episodes, but I wouldn't really rate it as highly as you do.
>>42617Really? All I've heard is that the end was "beautiful", "moving" and stuff like that. I haven't seen it myself, but feedback seems very positive. Was it the story part you didn't find interesting?
>>42625I'm not that guy (in fact this is probably my first post in this thread) but I've finished Hyouka so I'll go ahead and put words in his mouth.Hyouka was extremely dull. Yes, the story is not very interesting. It takes a "mystery of the week/two weeks" approach, but the mystery is never exciting or intriguing in any way, once the answer is obvious you get to spend 20 minutes of the protagonist explaining the solution to the female lead, etc etc. Each individual episode of Hyouka is not worth watching, and as a whole there is nothing extra. I mean, you could basically put any episode as stand-alone with a brief introduction to the characters. There's no over-arching plot or character development or anything. The ending wasn't beautiful or moving or anything like that. It was boring. No climactic moments, no resolution, no nothing. Of course that's to be expected since there was no tension or buildup or anything at all that needed resolving, Jesus Christ but still, you'd expect a finale episode to be special in some way. Any way at all.The only good thing about Hyouka is that it is very pretty to watch. The character designs are nice and there are five million frames per episode.
Last episode of Uchuu Kyoudai was very touching. I'm glad I've kept up with the 40 episodes so far.
Let's get this thread going again.Do you learn or play any musical instruments? Are you interested in starting?Check in with comments about your progress, questions, or interests!
>>43741I'm making slow progress. Lunatic Princess is going to take a while, but I've got Septette down. I just don't like its arrangement very much.I want to try Plain Asia, but that song is fucking crazy.
How important are weighted keys when buying an electric piano? I've been focusing on an M-audio Keystation (~$200) as a bare minimum, since it's the cheapest MIDI controller I can find with semi-weighted keys. I've done some research, though, and a lot of people say that fully weighted or hammer action keys are best for learning on. Keyboards with hammer action cost between $400-$500 at the very least however, which is more than I'm ordinarily willing to commit. Is it worth the extra few hundred dollars for a better keyboard just to learn?
>>43825If you ever want to use a real piano, you want a keyboard with weighted keys.
>>43826End of discussion. It's worth it too, if you're serious. Also, better off getting a proper keyboard than a MIDI controller if you're buying it to actually play.
>>43853I third this recommendation. Even weighted keyboards don't feel quite right to me (they're a lot stickier-feeling than a piano's keys) but a weighted keyboard is in the hundreds of dollars and a proper 88-key piano is in the thousands. Also, for anyone looking out for Touhou piano arrangements, http://www.youtube.com/user/kkcwkoh?feature=watch is a great link to have if you don't. There are plenty of transcriptions linked too.
Let us play a little game, /bun/.Every time you F5 /general/ and there are no new posts on the front page, you post an image in this thread that is related to the last poster's image.
Bunbun has been unusually inactive lately! Is everybody traveling and/or enjoying the company of family and friends for the holidays? Or are you like me, lurking because you have nothing interesting to say?
>>44108All the threads are boring. It's not me, it's you!
General anime thread for the summer 2012 season.
>>44063But why?Her intro arc was terrible, and she doesn't really do anything.
>>44061OniAi was always going to be a total piece of shit, by a no name studio with zero budget. People had zero expectations and it met them.SAO was hyped the fuck up because A-1, huge LN sales and subsequent fanbase, and having a pretty decent budget. People's expectations were way higher for this show, of course more people are complaining. Also SAO still thinks it's actually good unironically, so do a lot of the fans. It's easy trolling.
>>44070She isn't cute either.
>>44070In case you haven't noticed, The terrible writing surrounding a character doesn't make that character itself any less amazing or cute. Why do any of those have anything to do with how much I would like the character itself?Besides, she's the centerpiece. Everything else is simply tacked on around her. Even the writers know who the best character is in the series.>>44093You can kindly go fuck yourself with a cactus. gently and slowly.
>>44133What? She didn't even originally exist in the SAO arc. The author retconned her in later once he decided that he would add more shit to the story.
For when you want to waste time... constructively.

ITT,we discuss the different works of Ken Akamatsu and his evolving meta-verse while hopefully learning things we didn't know before.http://logsoku.com/thread/comic.2ch.net/csaloon/1054524835/If this is correct,Shizuna-sensei was 29 years old at the start of Negima, but there is no citation...
I've tried reading Negima at least three times now but I always get really bored because it's neither a harem or a battle manga it just feels like a weird mix between to the two that never really fully satisfies either.
>>43786I tried starting once, but barely managed to finish the first volume. I loved Love Hina, though, so you can imagine my disappointment.

Opening 6 minutes here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=gV4jBw9Tu2kSpoilers Ahead.http://enterkey.seesaa.net/article/302175911.htmlIn accordance with Ritsuko saying "Third Impact has begun" at the end of "2.0", the incident with the 10th Angel (Zeruel in NGE) is documented as the Third Impact. So, deemed responsible for causing Third Impact, Nerv is dismantled by the government. Misato and the other Nerv staff are confined, and Eva-01 with Shinji and Rei absorbed is imprisoned in a tesseract and transported to the Moon. Then the story moves ahead 14 years. [Not positive on how 話 is used here.] All original Nerv staff except Gendo and Fuyutsuki have started an organization called WILL-E. Their public pretext is restoring the red ocean back to blue, but in actuality they exist to prevent Gendo (Nerv?) from carrying out Fourth Impact. To do this, Misato and WILL-E advance the operational plans of the flying battle ship Wunder to use Eva-01 as a power source. [Not sure about underlined parts.] Asuka and Mari pilot their Evas to perform a heist of Eva-01, which is imprisoned on the Moon. En route, they encounter the 11th Angel, but Eva-01 destroys it. (The TV sneak peak opening 7 minutes.) Asuka and Mari's appearances haven't changed due to the curse of Eva.
I don't even care that the movie has the plot of a bad fanfiction, or that the animation is so CGI that I doubt any actual humans were involved in its creation.Misato is just that baller.
I wonder if she's still wet for bulldyke Akagi?
Shinji and Kaworu are trying to mess with Lilith because they think they can fix the world(trick by Seele)Asuka and Mari try and stop them.Asuka and Mari get curb stomped and because Kaworu and Shinji think they can "fix" everything, they beat Asuka almost to death. Then it turns out when they try to fix everything they start the 4th Impact(PUNKED BY SEELE) and Kaworu has to off himself to stop it.
