Can we have a thread where we discuss our waifus? What makes them special, how long we've felt love for them and where they are from? I'm interested in what kind of girls /bun/ likes.(I hope these kinds of threads are allowed here. Apologies if they are not!)
I don't fully understand the concept of favorite bishoujo. Do you guys imagine and project yourselves interacting with them? I mean, I have a favorite 2d girl too, but I don't insert myself into any fantasies regarding her or anything like that. That just seems... silly, somehow.
>>39692I'd love to become a little girl and have a chat over a cup of tea with my favourite 2D girls.
>>39701same
Wait, did posts here get deleted?I think deleting posts is harmful to a community unless said posts are spam or harmful themselves!
>>39703They weren't discussing favorite bishoujos, so they went home.
Do anyone of you still play touhou frequently?I play it every 4 months. Like beat'em-ups it gets pretty boring after 2-3 hours.
I'm surprised that so many like these touhou fighters. I wanted to learn how to play it once, but these "cards" were pretty annoying.Instead i'm a huge fan of the photo games now.
i try to play it again, but between jagged alliance : BIA, and my japanese lesson i don't have the time to play it
>>39530Currently trying to 1CC UFO. But I'm not really enthusiastic about it. Playing like one run every other day.
>>39581Yeah Im kinda like that, as in just do a run or 2 then stop. Im not that great at just playing it over and over.
I haven't played a Touhou game in several months now. Dunno why, they just don't give me the same satisfaction as before. Maybe it's because of what the OP said, it gets dull after awhile.>>39573Yeah, me too. Those were the only ones I actually enjoyed playing right before I stopped playing altogether.
Be it music, equipments to enjoy said music to the fullest, or others, post about them here.Ex: your latest music purchase which sound good, discussions about headphones, or even how certain albums sound much better when you're high.
I hope this is on-topic.Is it in any way a good idea to buy musical instruments online? Specifically, I'm thinking of buying a new guitar and amp, but due to... circumstances, I wish to avoid going to the store if possible. So is it a good idea to make a purchase online without first having a feel for the wood and material, checking the tone, sustain, etc? Will reading online reviews alone be a good enough basis to make an informed decision?
>>39003I buy all my instruments online and have never had a problem. Usually I'll just check out a few youtube videos of the product I'm interested in, and look up a couple of forum threads to see if there are any outstanding quality control issues. I'm usually very happy with my purchases, but then again I'm not particularly picky about my instruments. In a couple of years' time I plan to order myself a custom-made bass guitar and that'll be online-only as well.
>>39003If possible, I would suggest on trying out the instrument at a local store before ordering it online.
It is very important to be able to try an instrument before deciding on a purchase. Buying online is fine but only if there is a flexible return policy.

I know everyone is at /jp/ getting stuff, but we can still discuss stuff here.Did you find something cool? Share it with us!
>>38830I'm guessing Zun sheds a tear each time he sees a shitty western Touhou cosplayer.
>>38883Sounds sweet, where can I join?
>>38886maybe it's a drinking game for him
>>38934But he's still alive.
New general anime thread for the Summer season.Who's still watching what?N-not that I care or anything..
>>38381I actually agreed with your points a few weeks ago, but after re-watching the series in anticipation for the finale, I've since changed my mind. The whole progression of the show in a fairy tale like sense puts the weird pacing into perspective imo. And far from "overstaying her welcome", there are only 4 really important characters in the show and Ringo is one of them. Understanding her, and her interactions with the Takakuras is pretty important to understanding the message of the show.As for the point on symbolism, I am not going defend it and say "Well that's just how Ikuhara is". However I really don't think it was all that overblown. People can read into the show as much as they want and probably find evidence of anything. But with the exception of a few episodes, the presentation was very straightforward, and the symbolism wasn't terribly important, at least not until the end.Anyway, I haven't slept for quite a while now and I'm just rambling, so if any of this sounds off to you please forgive (`・ω・´)
>>38389Because autism.
So, I finally finished Pingdrum. I think it's my favourite show that's aired since Tatami Galaxy. As some have pointed out, the symbolism got a little overwhelming at times, but it's all good. I enjoy tearing up shows and poke about the inside. And it's more fun to find too much than nothing at all. Other than that the 90's throwback style was pretty cool, it had excellent scene composition and art and also something close to flawless foreshadowing.Im@s was alright I guess. A little disappointed the last episode was just a giant sakuga-splurge. But kudos for well-executed drama in a slice-of-life. In retrospective, I wish the series had been darker. Oh well.
I wanted more symbolism in Penguindrum. Something like Utena.
Bet I am gonna get flamed for it but I wasn't impressed with penguindrum. I actually love the first part of it when we were slowly given their tiny backstory bits by bits with flashback. Especiallynthe episode about sergeant frog. The second part, not so much. Too magical for my taste. Symbolism for the sake of symbolism when he should have just kept it simple. It was still a solid 6/10 though.
Is anyone on /bun/ going to be playing TOR over Christmas? My copy shipped earlier today and I want to know if there's a specific server I should roll up on.
>>38295I know it's not Shakespeare or anything, but I don't think you're giving the story enough credit. I was highly sceptical of the whole 'story-driven' angle they were going for, but have been surprised by how well it works. It really feels like you're playing a new KOTOR game rather than some generic WoW-clone; little things like how all of the KILL X MOBS quests are now bonus missions rather than NPC-given quests, the way they've handled companions and the implementation of the dialogue wheel make the game feel far less like an MMO than I thought possible.
>>38298I'm not saying it is bad or anything, don't get me wrong, I am enjoying it. But I mean, WoW is a 7 year old game, maybe I'm being naive, but I was hoping for a little more evolution on the genre.
>>38309MMOs evolve in the same way as genres such as fighters, racers, VNs and sports games. That is to say, they don't.
>>38309If you want evolution, hold out for GW2. In the meantime, TERA might come out so we can all be elin lolis with uguu baraka.>>38312MMORPGs have devolved so that every casual can have fun without putting in the effort of an actual person.
>>38321I must be pretty casual then, because I'm loving the shit out of TOR.
Hey bunbunmaru. I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but I hope it's fine if I do anyway.I'm going to make an adult oriented Touhou flash, with the deadline set on christmas. I am, however, not sure of what Touhou character to use, as there is so many of them.So I am asking you to vote for what Touhou character you would like to see in this flash. You like Touhou around these parts, yes?I'm not sure what the content of the flash will be. It'll probably be something that fits the character that ends up with the most votes. So, please vote. I want to get this started on december 1st, so you have until then.
>>38012There are actually a lot of votes in this thread.I counted them up: Unique votes Cheating votesSuika 7Okuu 5 2Tenshi 1Aya 1
Unique votes Cheating votesSuika 7Okuu 5 2Tenshi 1Aya 1
I'll start working on the flash now. I'll give a link to it here when it's done. I hope it'll turn out well. For now, bye bye~!
>Suika won anyway. My plan to distract people with hats was a failure. Ain't that a kick in the head.
favorite bishoujos.
Do you think that boards that do not require registration but allow users to enter a name should discourage the usage of names?
>>37962You're not being serious, right?
>>37969I'm always serious when dealing with people like you, since none of you can take a joke.>>37966It was pretty cool but only /b/ used it.The rest of your post makes me want to laugh, but again, you're probably not joking.
That, my friend, is the question of the century.

Anyone have any particular doujin music highlight groups / albums / songs that you really enjoy?I love mneko - nekology. It is probably the best Doujin release.
I've always considered this one of the best Touhou piano albums. This song in particular is just wonderful:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0325YkV-X0
I could use some denpa.Believe it or not it makes great workout music... or just music I like. I wish I read more in to the denpa thread from old bun. I hope that denpa guy is still around, and maybe he might help me out?
>>37342Here I am (OP from denpa thread). If you need good albums, check >>36945. Also anything from MOSAIC.WAV, ave;new project, etc. Is there any denpa artist or album you like?
>>37380Another good album is Nanahira's ゴキゲン77゚↑.
http://www.mediafire.com/?95ca496fnl6a9 I uploaded this for someone the other day, might as well share it here too since it seems to be rare. More information for anyone interested.http://sound.jp/ankimo/fuyumikadvd.xhtm
Hello bun.I have just finished watching Welcome to N.H.K.I have loved the characters as they are more relatable then the animes I had watched up till now. I want to know if are there any such anime/manga/franchise that have characters with "problems".One other thing is that I came to realization that there exist a great deal of NEETs after watching the series and reading this survey here:>>12738Mind you, I knew about the hikikomori condition but it never occurred to me that they are quite the population. I suspect that the demographic is around 18-26, people who should be in the college or on the verge of having a job defined by their degrees or abilities. Being on the same demographic, I sometimes feel like turning into one. I never do.I want to know if there are any of you who "was" in there. Any theories as to the cause and cure? Are those people "content" with what they have?
>>37224 I hear you. That is also why I loved Evangelion, all of that mecha was cool too, but the real deal was that they were all struggling with their identities. Even though I prefer animes with older characters evangelion had them younger but mature, or in the process of maturing. >>37243, >>37232 I hope you did good with the interview. One step at a time. Also, what drove you into it?
>>37244The interview went fine, the problem was I don't have any experience in the field I was applying for (retail sales). It's also a shop at an upscale mall, so I'd have to deal with rich people all the time, and I've never done that either. But honestly I just need the money while I look for a real job. A lot of stores are currently hiring seasonal temp workers to stay on the next two months.
>>37245Good for you!I might get a job soon if I'm lucky, also in retail. The human resources dude said he would check if anybody needed help, probably a good sign, hopefully they're not fully staffed...
>>37229I'm actually kind of like this with my sister.
oh no the board is gone
