RIP /general/.Before anyone asks, I did something stupid to wreck the MySQL database. Then after writing a script to restore the MySQL database from the /res directory, I restored wakaba.pl for just a few minutes so that I could get in the SQL interface and drop the comments table so that I could run the script and replace it with a new one... and somebody made >>1, clearing the cache. So it's all gone now.I don't know if AyaS or anyone else had backups of this site, but...I'm terribly sorry, everyone.
(゚⊇゚)
Oh god why
RIP /general/(づ。◕‿‿‿‿◕。)づ
fffff, >>1 was me. I'm sorry, I should have waited or posted on /photos/. OTZ
>>9Sometimes pointing out the obvious isn't as cool as you'd think it'd be.
Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic board. /general/ will be that board. Better than it was before. Better, stronger, faster.
Now, we rebuild
Jews killed /bun/.
Good job, nerd.
I have no idea how imageboards work, but damned if any site doesn't need a system restore.
At least the spurt of posting after the delete here, equals about a month of regular /general/-activity.
Blaagh. What a thing to wake up to.Well, I've got some backups made a long time ago, but restoring them is probably pretty pointless. Not to mention a pain in the arse.So I'd just bury the old stuff. It's not like anything THAT important was lost, eh?
>>36554The DnD thread was lost you heartless old crone.
You don't have any backups?!Well, at least /photos/ is still alive.
This NSFW option is fucking retarded anyway. Can't believe we traded 2 years of /bun/ for this shit.
WHATSomebody remake the anime seasons threads.
>>36557 Bun had a DnD thread?
<Whales> oh well at least we have censoring now
>>36566Bun should talk about D&D and such more often.I'm sure there are a lot more roleplayers here than lurk the dnd channel.
>>36554You could make an /archive/ board and just dump everything there for easy browsing.>>36571I'd like to start with D&D actually. Which would /bun/ recommend for a beginner, 3.5 or 4th edition?
I like the censoring option. I often browse this board in places I'm forced to quickly skip down so people won't see the "last image you fapped to" thread.>>36572>You could make an /archive/ boardI like this idea.
Fuck the censoring, I'd rather have it so I don't have to click on the image to see it.I'd not want an archive board either, just keep it the same with pages of old threads.
So when are we going to get this feature on /photos/?
>>36575It doesn't take much. It just needs Aya to supervise it so that it doesn't go all /general/. Maybe not even that if extra care is taken this time.
>>36576Yeah, Jones never told me what he did to the MySQL database in the first place but he's always deredere about his perl scripts. I figure since that was done during experimentation it won't happen again.
>>36572>>36573Thirding this.Aya, /archive/ would be much appreciated.
First hongfire surrenders, now this. What a terrible past 2 days.
asdsdf
A decisive blow. Well played.
>>36575I don't want to lose /photos/ too!
I'm still bitter about the loss. All we got was this stupid NSFW spoiler option. Keep /general/ the same as it was, I don't want any new changes.
BOON!
>>36612We're gonna carry that weight.
Don't worry bud. Shit happens, we're human. If anything, many hosting companies keep backups. You should try asking them.
07/09/11 never forget
>>>/jp/7854218>I hear Jones completely wiped the board because personal information of his was posted.>Pretty drastic.
Goodbye drawing thread
Oh... oh well. At least the board is still alive, right? We can just remake everything that was lost.Just remake everything...
>>36674Just the two of you?
I do have an archive of Shameimaru General. This include some of the much older threads that would be of interest to the /bun/ community. I never expected this happen, but since it did I will be uploading the threads to the Yotsuba Society Archives soon.-Jkid, Co-Founder of the Society for the Study and Preservation of Yotsuba Channel.
I was just missing the board and feeling bad and thought I'd bump this so maybe other people can feel bad as well and that might make me feel better
>>42877You're a bad person and should feel bad about that.
>>42877misery loves company.
>>42877what's wrong with that dog
>>42884that's a cat.
>>42885looks like a slug to me.
>>42886That's mean please don't say that
>>36699I thought this was a joke of some sort, when he first posted that, but wowhttp://archives.yotsubasociety.org/bun/gen.htmlToo bad the formatting sucks, and less than half of the threads are archived...>>42877 I still hate you for doing it.
>>42888A fun thing to do is try and guess which threads/replies were posted by you (bonus points for posts with no personal information).
>>42889Fucking sakes I clicked that thread with the /bun/ soundtrack. That guy was such a bitch. Your game isn't fucking fun at all.I hate this thread.
>>42889Trying to find my posts in http://archives.yotsubasociety.org/bun/gen/1900.htmland failing miserably.>>42890I can vaguely remember the thread. Link please?
So yeah, is it possible to restore at least some of the older threads using that Yotsuba Society Archive?
No. Not without a lot of work that you'll have to find someone willing to do (i.e. not me) since it has to all be entered into the database to prevent the board from simply deleting it again, and the post numbers will all have to be adjusted to compensate for the addition of old posts, and all for what? Some threads nobody misses? No thanks.Stop bumping this.
>>42890You're a terrible person for making me click that again. http://archives.yotsubasociety.org/bun/gen/28900.html>>42900Seems like the only sensible thing to do is to just remake every thread post for post. I can't be the only one who misses that P&S thread on the first page.
>>42905I fucking loved PSG topics back when.
>>42906Well it was that thread that made me watch after all.
>>42905Sorry, I kininarimashita.I think I was the one who posted that Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets song, heh. Also, if you're serious about reposting the threads post for post, I'll gladly contribute.
>>42912Only if you promise to keep the time stamps relative for maximum effect. Actually it would be kinda neat just to make the same thread and see how the replies today compare. I sure have changed my stance on drugs since that drug thread was around that's for sure.
>>42918>Actually it would be kinda neat just to make the same thread and see how the replies today compare. This could also be interesting.
>>42920>alsoindeed*
>>42918>Actually it would be kinda neat just to make the same thread and see how the replies today compare.I actually do this on /jp/ every now and then. Over the years I've reposted the thread that sparked '/jp/ project' at least five times now.
>>42922>/jp/ projectSO IT'S YOU! ヽ(`Д´)ノ ┻━┻
>>42922Yeah that sounds interesting alright. Maybe next you could try reposting threads from a day ago! I'd bet you'd get all sorts or interesting replies!
>>42905>Seems like the only sensible thing to do is to just remake every thread post for post.So we HORIZON now?
>>42922I do this as well sometimes. I think the most interesting one was this.Original: https://fuuka.warosu.org/jp/thread/S2370897Repost: https://fuuka.warosu.org/jp/thread/S7187682
You should fire your current dev and hire me. I'm much better.
>>43134Okay Anonymous, you're hired. Now get to work!
>>43135Okay.
