I'm not the dude who has been posting it on /jp/ for a while, but since I don't think he'll post this here I copypasted it with a few changes. If I see him later on IRC I'll ask if he minds posting it here too, but if he doesn't want I'll keep doing it myself. All credit goes to him anyway.

Oh, I forgot. Sharin chapter 2 is almost done, and it will probably be finished in 1/2 weeks ~I'm guessing here, don't quote me on that~. Moogy said he won't do more partial patches, but he doesn't care about unofficial patches so I'll probably compile a Chapter 2 patch when editing and QC is done.

G senjou is being TLChecked by Ixrec so don't worry about it.

Two more things. Symphonic Rain was in a critical situation because nobody was editing it, but now Neko and more people are working on that so expect the patch in a month or so. Also, G senjou is again being worked on at a normal speed.

Muramasa features mechas with swords, wide-screen and fuckwin music. The trial is more like prologue, like was case with Fate/Stay Night.
If you want to see how wide-screen display works, download the trial.

Valusia is the fourth visual novel in Liar-Soft's What a Beautiful series, this time with Arabian Nights setting. Art is done by same guy who worked on Forest and Inganock.
Also full-voice in Liar-Soft game? About damn time.

Fullmetal Daemon Muramasa will be getting harsh competition with Comyu regarding 2009 sales. If you're curious just taste it by playing the trial and see why the format will be painful to translate.

The newest Liar-Soft game--4th of What a Beautiful series--will have 1001Nights/Arabian-esque setting with Zoroastrian mythology. There's characters named Princess Xerxes to Caliph Mohammed, reference to RL stuffs like how they did with Sharnoth.

>>4205

>How long is Inganock compared to CC?

Script is around 1MB, compared to Cross Channel's 1.3MB. Easier translation difficulty but since he's going to uni we don't know if he can reach usual 20kB/day speed like CC. Hopefully Inganock will be finished by Christmas.

>No love for 11Eyes? No salvaging Baldr Sky? No Yosuga no Sora? No wresting control of Nar 2 so as to get Nar 3 underway?
11Eyes is getting anime this fall AND seeing that many serialized series getting its vn origin commercially translated (Shuffle, Higurashi) it's better to just leave it. No one complains about 11Eyes missing from the 2nd phase nomination list too, so it's easy to assume that no one really cares.

Another newbie translator comes out for Narcissu a month ago, but as usual no more news. TakaJun is waiting for Dive2 before he decided to pick the entire Baldr Sky series as long-term project. Meanwhile Yosuga no Sora is only good for the otaku twincest gimmick and Hashimoto Takashi's art.

Insani delivers. But only before 2006.

We always try to recommend short and easy-to-translate games to new interested vn translators, but as usual most want to pick big or popular games directly and getting burned out before finishing afterward. It's a cool thing for Ixrec to venture out by himself to gemot and translate MOON, which is a good preparation by getting himself familiarize with the method, recruiting proper staffs and challenging the-almost-impossible-to-translate Tanaka Romeo's writing.

Let me know if I missed any project that is active, not including something like Quartett! since no idea if that is dead or alive. Also let me know if my information is out of date for any of this, I believe it should be fully updated

Ixrec's next poll nomination thread
>> No.13465

I've never understood this. Since 50-75% of the voters probably haven't played these VNs since they don't know Japanese, wouldn't the voting be really unreliable? You can't judge quality from a couple images.

People vote for things they think look good -> Ixrec reads it -> he considers it
A) Nothing special, moves onto the next thing on the list (GSS has already been disqualified from the next poll because of this)
B) "excellent" or better, he translates it

That's a decent system if you ask me. Not to mention the fact that most people who nominate/vote seem to vote for things that are widely considered great anyway (Swan Song, Baldr Sky, Inganock, etc).

Probably has something to do with the custom engine that MG uses. Anyway, I don't really care at all. Odds are the music will be replaced with tracks from the later chapters of the game (which is what they did with the PS2 release I believe). As for the extras, not a huge deal.

Well, I suspect everyone is too wrapped up in Umineko to care but I thought I'd post some more impressions of Soul Link. I'm roughly midway through the story now and, while its not great, its not halfbad either. The characters can be a little cliched but they're not total caricatures, and the plot is interesting enough and well paced, albeit somewhat predictable (the only thing I had no idea was coming was Shuhei's proposal to Nao, given how they acted most of the time.). Just don't take the science seriously.

Graphically the art isn't really anything to write home about. About the best that can be said for it is that its not ugly. Soundwise the music does its job but is otherwise forgettable, with the exception of the pleasant OP, and all the seiyuu are capable and solid enough. Shuhei is probbably the standout here, having quite a sexy voice, while Wakamoto plays an unusually subdubed role.

So yeah, above average bordering on nice so far. Word of advice though, if you plan on reading this make sure to save before every choice in multiple slots. You will die, and die often. The reasons for your deaths, however, actually make sense when you think about them and the consequences of your actions are usually felt immediately, so no loading a save six hours back because you didn't pay enough attention to such and such a girl.
