Watching Saya waltz into Watanuki's shop reminded me that I haven't finished the xxxholic manga. I was seriously not expecting that crossover.

That and Mana's nipples were the best parts of the movie. Saya's were nice and perky, as shown, but there wasn't a strong frontal view of hers like there was for Mana.

The fights were well animated, but that was to be expected. Everything else was garbage. A movie isn't the place to introduce 7 new characters, with one only being named, asked her age, and then never mentioned again (sure, she had a few lines at the very end, but she had nothing at all to do with the story and makes one wonder why the fuck would they even put a character like that into a movie).

I won't even touch on how terrible the ending was. Everybody going full retarded all at once.
It's a shame the blood franchise couldn't have just ended with +

As someone who couldn't even finish the TV series, The Black Dark was an entertaining action film. I didn't give a crap about the cast, specially not the dumb group of super hacker kids, but it had kickass fights with excellent visuals and that's good enough. I'll give it to you though, the ending is absolute bollocks; that 3DCG monster is disgraceful, and the movies just sort of... stops after that. Having no real plot to speak of is one thing, but that's not the way to end anything.

Do people actually like the Blood anime(s)? I've heard so much mixed about them, so a little apprehensive.
>> No.44892
>>44891

Blood C is terrible, that much is rather unanimous. There are a few good moments, but those aren't worth the rest of the pile of shit.

Blood+ has issues, mostly about the pacing in places, and if you bother to keep track of the backstory (not hard to do if you marathon the series) you'll find glaring holes and places where the writers changed their minds about how it would go after they did it and just hoped the audience would go with it.
That said, it's not terrible, and the list of vampire-themed anime is so short that blood+ overall is worth watching if you're into that sort of thing regardless. If you are a complete sucker for vampire-themed anime, the faults tend to somewhat disappear and leave a rather joyous experience.

The movies are decent enough, both of them. Not really worth watching twice, but entertaining enough. the C-movie can be watched as a standalone and you really won't be missing anything. Just make sure you get the original Last Vampire, and not the live action remake.

Why... Why did this have to be so funny?

I have a somewhat shaky history with comedy. Sometimes I cannot laugh at comedy, even if I think it's probably funny. Yet other times I can laugh at just about anything. When watching the first season of Minami-ke I snickered some. With the newest season I've laughed some. I laughed a lot with Binbougami, but that became less funny as time went on. With this, I've laughed lots. And even when I haven't laughed I've appreciated the writing. But now it's no more. I really want a second season, dammit! Sugibro is so amazing~

I only watched it when it aired myself.

it was somewhat hinted that they weren't blood related from the scene with the parents talking to each other at the very end, but it was never outright said, and the children weren't there to hear it anyhow.there was most likely a scene of them leaving in a stupid over-the-top method, possibly involving a helicoptor as well. I don't quite remember but it would be plausible.

From what I remember, the parents shouted SOMETHING to them while they flew away in a helicopter, which was extremely heavily implied to be that they aren't related by blood.
Then that hair-over-one-eye alien w/e the fuck girl says something as well at the end if I remember correctly.

One thing I do remember is the voice porn, I think that's half the reason most people stuck with it (the other half watched for the incest.)

yea, the main antagonist and all his delicious henchmen were removed, and hayate's backstory handwaved such that the questions "how did you find that book?" and "how does a 10 year old girl in a wheelchair learn how to cook/clean/live on her own?" linger.

in other news, MOVIE 3rd won't be strikers, but an all new story that will involve the girls still as lolis, or at least mostly lolified and nowhere near her age in STRIKERs. The good part about this is that it's not STRIKERs, but with the author's "new and novel" ideas for the Nanoha series being Force, I can't really say I'm looking forward to the story aspect of what is to come in the movie.

Finished Yu-Gi-Oh! "season 0" and Vifam this week, both enjoyable in their own ways.

I'm really going to miss Vifam. I'm not very fond of mecha shows, more often than not dropping halfway through the thing due to lack of interest (RahXephon I'm looking at you), but this show kept me interested the entire time. The main cast was a group of kids that didn't get on my nerves for a change; I grew fond of everyone, even Kentsu who kept fucking things up. Mecha designs were pretty nice I think, even though I usually prefer manchild show designs where they don't care about the robots making sense. The OST was great, it was actually one of the main reasons I decided to watch the show.

I've got the OVAs left at least, and the sequel (or something like that) VIFAM13, which isn't subbed so I guess it's time to learn Japanese.

It makes sense in context though. All the movies are supposed to be in-universe productions made by TSAB. It makes sense that they'd cover up the involvement of one of their own (and how Precia's been portrayed as a nicer person).

If they had no need for Shinji, why did they put him on THE BOAT POWERED BY EVA 01?

Hell, if they had no need for Shinji, why would they need him ALIVE?

Why was NERV keeping him in space?

How the hell did they get him up there in the space capsule in the first place?

So Wille is a ragtag organization with no money. Except they built a holy shit antigrav super jesus jet. And have a massive fleet of battleships. AND can send Evas into space.

Mari is STILL narrative dead-weight.
We STILL don't know who the hell Mari is or where she comes from, or why the hell everyone trusts her.

Kowaru is the 13th angel, so he wants to cause 3rd impact, except he stopped 3rd impact at the end of 2.22, and still wants to stop 3rd impact, but he works directly for the people who want to trigger 3rd impact, and doesn't hinder them in any way.

NERV seems to have the exact opposite problem as Wille. Endless amounts of money and resources, yet the place is an absolute hell-hole, and has been for 14 years.
Is there ANYONE maintaining the place? I didn't see a single staff member.

Shinji: I don't know if I want to pilot an eva again...
Kowaru: Here, let me show you the millions of people you murdered while trying to do something good the last time you piloted an eva
Shinji: OH GOD! WHAT THE FUCK?! I guess that settles it. I'm never piloting an eva again.
Kowaru: Hey Shinji, help me pilot this eva.

As a movie, Evangelion Q is one of the worst things I've ever seen. A disjointed mess with no pacing and no actual plot, just a series of events that somehow happen one after the other. It feels disconnected from the previous movies and ends before you're given enough information to be satisfied in any way. A fucking disaster as a standalone package - and the thing is, it's even worse as part of Rebuild. Because as an Evangelion movie it's fucking insulting. I was never a fan of the direction the series was going but this makes the previous films look like a thoughtful take on Evangelion. If you're acquainted with Adam, Lilith and the likes you're going to be very confused as Anno has made a point to change everything so that our knowledge of the franchise isn't worth shit anymore. Which isn't bad per se, but this movie has as much Eva lore as End of Evangelion did, except that came when we were capable of understanding what was going on. Here you'll be showered by those concepts with no idea what the rules are and what the fuck is going on. Hell, even on a more basic level, there are new angels and Eva units everywhere so impacts have become like an everyday experience.

So yeah, Anno. I'd appreciate it if you went and fucked yourself.

I really enjoyed Utakoi, as sad as it made me. I'm slugging through another romance show right now, Kamisama Hajimemashita, which I wish was half as interesting as the romance stories in Utakoi were.

My only problems with the show were some VA performances (didn't really like Minari Chihara as Shonagon or Yuu Kobayashi as Shikibu, though the latter was good enough when she wasn't doing her usual crazy voice), and how the animation would get pretty choppy at times, as well as some off model shots during panning scenes.

It makes absolutely no sense from a narrative standpoint, you don't even need to worry about the bullshit Anno added. Basic questions like why didn't Misato tell Shinji what was going on? or why did Shinji take so long to talk to Rei, and barely speak to her once he finally did? Forget all the 3I theories and the inexplicable SEELE bullshit, and even forget the fact that Kaworu did fucking nothing in this movie besides lounge around looking sexual ambiguous (it's been said before, but he genuinely had more development and motivation for the 10 minutes screen time he had in the TV series than he did for an entire movie half dedicated to him), the real issue is that the characters acted so fucking retarded that nothing made sense on a fundamental level.

>I'm expecting great things from Mari.
Yeah, I'm sure the Master will find a way to settle her character and finally answer questions like who are you, what are you doing, why are you doing it, how did you do that, why are you even in these movies at all etc. Mari has had less development than Kaworu despite being here for nearly 2 films. SEELE obviously don't give a fuck about her, so that theory's now fucked (yet another amazing side effect of jumping the story 14 years forward is that all these subplots are rendered utterly meaningless), and short of SHE WAS AN ANGEL ALL ALONG or SHE WAS SHINJI'S DAUGHTER FROM EOE ALL ALONG or some equally retarded asspull, I can't imaginehow he's going to explain ZA BEASUTO (if he even bothers to try). Fuck Mari and fuck anyone who thinks she was more than a shameless attempt to shift more figures.

>they make Rei a fucking side character.
You mean they killed her off completely. The 'Real Rei' that got all the development and focus in the previous 2 movies is killed off offscreen and gets about 3 lines of spoken dialogue right at the beginning, while she is essentially replaced by GENERIC REI III CLONE Wow, amazing move. I couldn't care less about any perceived point being made against favorite bishoujo fanboys, this was a completely retarded move directionally and a cheap, blatant move to remove anyone from the movie who might explain a damn thing to Shinji.

>it was necessary to make way for best angel.
Who did what? basically told Shinji to DANCE LIKE HE MEANS IT while being cryptic and evasive about absolutely everything, gazes longingly into Shinji's eyes for 40m then dies after Shinji goes full retard (not that I even blamed him at that point). I am at a loss as to why he was the focus of this movie.
>> No.45500
Saved from some anon:

About why everyone is a dick:

The first time, Shinji didn't know what was going to happen. He was acting out his duty as an EVA pilot. Here, he cannot be blamed. In real life, a soldier will not be punished for the unintended consequences of carrying out orders from a superior.

The second time--now this is where the tragedy comes in. It's been 14 years. Everyone else has to deal with this really fucked up earth. They probably even lost loved ones, their homes, their way of life.
They survived wars and other tragedies we cannot begin to imagine. 14 years is a very, very long time. Everyone's pretty much forgotten how it all started except for one thing: Shinji Ikari started it.

And then that motherfucker who started it all touches down back to earth, all nice and easy, safe and sound, unscathed and ignorant. Is it any wonder why they hate him? If I had lived through the 14 years post-Near 3I I would have jumped at the chance to rip off his guts. You may say that Shinji isn't really responsible; but those people don't know any better.

In the end, Shinji does shoulder some responsibility in being the trigger. Does he deserve the hate? Probably not; he's an unstable teenager and he needs all the support he can get. But it's not coming to him, because they HATE him. Not because they're intentionally jerks, but because they are human and they can't help it. And that opens the stage for Kaworu Our lord and savior.

He pays attention to him, talks to him, explains things to him, and most of all treats him like AN ACTUAL HUMAN BEING. Small wonder Shinji immediately latches on to him as the sole person who he can talk to. And then Kaworu tells him about the spears that can restore the world.

Shinji jumped at the chance, and didn't stop even when Asuka showed up to stop him and even when Kaworu TOLD him to stop. He didn't even care about how he was going to do anything with a bunch of spears. He was THAT desperate to be loved again, for Misato to accept him once again, to repair all his mistakes.

And boom, third impact happens, Kaworu dies and now Shinji looks like a massive idiot.

Was he an idiot? Sure he was. Could Wille have handled it better? Sure they could. But they didn't. Emotions clouded everyone's judgment. That's the entire point of Evangelion: Bad Shit happens when you don't communicate properly. We keep calling them out on it, but we are looking at them through the screen. It's easy.

But if we were suvivors for those 14 years, we would be no better than them.

>touches down back to earth, all nice and easy, safe and sound, unscathed and ignorant.
You mean they intentionally brought him back from internal tang so they could use Unit-01 as a power source. If they really didn't give a fuck about him then they would have left him in Unit-01's core rather than saving him. And Misato knows damn well that he has zero memory of the past 14 years, and that SHE WAS THE ONE WHO TOLD HIM TO FUCK EVERYTHING AND GO FOR IT. I don't know if you realised, but Misato is not one to quit halfway with things, especially when she's fucked up. The fact she's acting this way was a massive kick in the dick for Misato fans especially, because she's acting the exact opposite of her death speech in EoE.
It's fucking retarded no matter how you look at it, there is no justification unless we find out in 4.0 that if Shinji knew about what happened then he would trigger 4I automatically or something, which is not just dumb as all fuck, it makes zero sense since they put the collar on him.

>Everyone's pretty much forgotten how it all started
>but those people don't know any better.
What the fuck are you talking about? If anyone on the entire fucking planet knows better it's Misato and the rest of the ex-NERV employees; they were kind of standing right next to where everything happened and even shouted words of encouragement for Shinji to go for it. 'They didn't know' is the shittest argument I've heard yet.
And I don't know about you but being at ground zero the day the world ended isn't something you'd just forget about. Ask someone who was seriously beaten up or raped 30-40 years later if they remember it, and they'll be able to recount every minute detail of the day as if it had just happened. Watching 3I unfold before your eyes is not just going to be forgotten.

>He pays attention to him, talks to him, explains things to him
He doesn't explain shit. He shows him the new moon and the state of the current world, but he doesn't tell him anything about his father, SEELE, NERV, the new Evas, Rei, his own motivation or anything. All he lets him know is 'we need to break this barrier and get these lances, then things will be OK'. Maybe if he HAD told him more Shinji wouldn't have gone full retard and listened to him once he realised what was going on.

>But if we were suvivors for those 14 years, we would be no better than them.
For the reasons listed above, no.

Yeah, I'm sure the Master will find a way to settle her character and finally answer questions like who are you, what are you doing, why are you doing it, how did you do that, why are you even in these movies at all etc.

The sarcasm, it burns.

>Mari has had less development than Kaworu despite being here for nearly 2 films.[...] Fuck Mari and fuck anyone who thinks she was more than a shameless attempt to shift more figures.

And then she shows up in the picture with Shinji's mother and yet one more question is asked.
Though as I implied, if nothing happens with Mari, or at least, nothing outside of an eyeroll asspull, I will completely agree with >>45406

Wrong Ikari. Shinji was, at most, a pawn of his that did exactly what Gendo wanted him to. The group of people cheering for him as he did it very quickly realized that what was happening wasn't something that they should want to happen (though, they most likely realized this some time after kaoru impales 01 and stops it half way through), and that Gendo was the cause of it hence WILLE being formed to combat Gendo's plan.

The real question is why does NERV still exist, as the entire NERV workforce sans *two* people turned on them, how the shit did they manage to hold their own -- more than that, push WILLE back to maintain and defend their headquarters for all this time?

Finished Kuno no Keiyakusha 2 days ago, Ryuusei no Gemini today and watched the first episode of Gaiden just now. Only 3 more episodes of Darker than Black left. So OreImo's final LN just came out.

-Kyousuke takes Kirino on a date to Akihabara using buying a new Eroge as an excuse to take her there. Even going so far to book a hotel room they could stay at. Though, they only use it to play the eroge they bought. While viewing the Christmas Tree in Akihabara, Kirino tells Kyousuke she plans on studying abroad after graduation. Kyousuke tells her that he's in love with someone. Kirino starts tearing up and runs away. Kyousuke chases after her.

-Kaori, Saori, and Kuroneko appear in a minivan (decorated with Siscalypse). They've been following the 2 of them for a while, and decide to help Kyousuke chase after Kirino. Saori tells him that she and Kaori have reconciled.

-Flashback to the end of volume 10. Ayase confesses to Kyousuke, but he rejected her. Telling her that he's in love with someone else. Ayase cries and kisses Kyousuke's cheek goodbye.

-On December 20th, days before his date with Kirino, he calls Kuroneko. He also rejects her and gives the same reason he told Ayase. But, he tells her how he really feels about her. After crying for some time, Kuroneko rips the Destiny Record apart, and becomes Yamineko, promising Kyousuke that she'll cast the biggest curse of her life on him.

-Kyousuke catches up to Kirino, and tells her that he loves her. Kuroneko, using the car audio, plays the confession Kyousuke told her about on the phone...which she recorded. Turns out this is the biggest curse she planned on casting on him.

-Kyousuke asks Kirino to not go anywhere, and then asks her to marry him. She says Yes. Back in the Hotel Room, Kyousuke gives her the Ring she asked him to buy for her back in Volume 3. They finish playing the eroge they bought and then go to sleep. (Nothing Happens)

-The next day, Kyousuke and Kirino bump into Saori and Kuroneko. Both have accepted Kyousuke's decision. They later run into Sakurai as well, and she also accepts and respects Kyousuke's choice.

-Kanako had invited Kyousuke to a Meruru Concert she's performing in. During the event, she confesses to him, but he rejects her. She promises to pay him back by becoming a super star.

-One day, Kirino tells Kyousuke that they need to perform a Ceremony for Couples. She shows him the Photo Album she didn't show him before. It's full of Kyousuke's pictures that she stole from their father's photo album.

-On Graduation Day, Manami calls Kirino and Kyousuke, telling them she wishes to fight with Kirino. The 3 of them meet at a park, and Kirino tells her that she's dating Kyousuke now and starts to taunt her. Manami then punches Kirino in the stomach and starts brawling, but Kyousuke breaks it up. Manami yells at Kirino the same thing she told her years ago "BECOME NORMAL SIBLINGS" and repeatedly attemps to convince Kyousuke to end his relationship with Kirino, however, he refuses. Manami then confesses to Kyousuke as well, but he rejects her and chooses Kirino instead. Manami, realizing Kyousuke's decision is final, gives up and kicks him in the stomach.

-Afterwards, Kirino and Kyousuke have their wedding in the same church that Kirino wore the wedding dress at in Volume 9. Kyousuke and Kirino are the only ones there. Kyousuke took care of the Outfits. Afterwards, they Kiss. Kirino then gives back the Ring to Kyousuke. During Christmas Eve, they promised that after Graduation, they would return to being Normal Siblings.

-Kyousuke's final decision is that he won't be with anyone romantically. And that things won't go back to the way they were before.

-In the Epilogue, Kyousuke and Kirino go to an Offline meeting in Akihabara.
-Sena and Makabe have started dating.
-Kyousuke and Kirino never told their parents what happened between them.
-Kirino told Ayase that she and Kyousuke are/were dating, however, Ayase's reaction is never shown.
-Mikagami became close with Bridget at a Meruru Fan Club meeting. They were caught by the Paparazzi when Mikagami dropped Bridget off at her house. However, Mikagami proudly announced his hobby and that he's really only interested in Unreal 2D Girls".

-The End of the volume states that the Bonus Novel that comes with the 1st DVD/BD of the Anime will take place 10 Years After the narrative. So once again...we have to wait to see what'll happen.

The movie was a bit of a let down, I was really expecting more, and it turned out to be quite average.
When it comes to writing an original story, at least the movies should've had some real effort instead of what feels like a 4-ep filler arc.

On the bright side, the OST is still amazing.

The story is a filler arc, where they try to give every character introduced in any of the JC staff adaptations a cameo appearance where they act like a card-board cut out of their character for one scene.

The animation is mostly quite nice, with several areas that get kind of questionable.

Lastly, there's enough fanservice to make it bearable; Especially if you enjoy posteriors of 14 year old girls and voicework by Misawa Sachika.

Overall, I'd say it's significantly and notably better than the railgun filler chunks, but it's nowhere near as good as the actual story arcs of Index. Worth watching once, and then deleting.

That's DEEN for you. Don't forget the DVD 480p, as in native 480p with the BD version being an upscale that just makes all that terrible animation look worse.

Also, knowing full well that the entire OVA was 100% anime original DEEN beating a few more yen out of their dead horse, my expectations were quite low to begin with. I watched it for one scene (it's in the screenshot), and I got another minute or so of Mion and rena injured and in bandages, which was pretty great once you get past the horrifyingly errors with regards to the bandages and how blood works + the entire ED of stuff worth watching, which made me happy.

The first two eps weren't all that great, but once it had a few eps to get used to the new VA cast/art designs/character personalities (edited to better fit the new VA I assume), it got a lot better.
I regret dropping this as it aired, as it really did get a lot better by the 3rd episode (only Chizuru's VA change is HUGELY notable even after the big gap between when I watched the first season as it aired and now) and the BD rip has BR edited-crunchyroll subs anyway.

This has to be the most preposterous of any of Nasu's concepts yet.
I was not expecting to laugh as hard as I did. It's as if Nasu browsed the /tg/ thread of playing DnD with Ryuugi Shiki, and then used it as the basis for the conflict resolution of the movie. Literally:
When you envisioned the future, it become solid so I killed the future where you killed me, which let me avoid that future completely unharmed so I can kill you -- Shiki Ryuugi

Otherwise, 45 mins of Ryuugi wanking, 30 mins. of Kokuto introducing the first heroine for the next KnK movie and then 20 mins of epilogue combined with the introduction of the 2nd heroine for the next KnK movie.

The school outfit being Ceil's combat attire is wonderful, and the first new heroine sporting ceil's original haircut is nifty. Also, roastbeef being the School's director is another great touch. It almost makes me want to get my hopes up for Akiha to show up in the next KnK movie somewhere, but I highly doubt it would actually happen.

Would be nice if the KnK TVA series got subbed, perhaps by the time the BD batch gets released somebody will grab the project.

First two are definately worth watching, even more so if you haven't seen the airing series or it's been several years since; they are a retelling of the series with most of the no-value-added angst removed and without rushing over the important bits.

3rd movie gets a tad contrived, but is still enjoyable enough.
My one gripe is that the previews for the movie was one of those intentionally misleading things that sets the stage for magical girl turf wars in the post-madoka world, and introducing a set of opposing magical girls (one of which has the oversized hammer, I was really looking forward to her). Nothing of the sort happens.

Sadly, the 3rd movie is one of those movies that layers plot twists ontop of each other such that you can't discuss or even mention the overall plot without significantly spoiling the surprises, and the direction & writing for some of the more contrived parts is a bit lacking (the animation cast mostly makes up that shortfall through the visuals, in allegory and innuendo). You'll notice that it's one of those movies right from the start; the execution of it is well enough that I was more relieved than disappointed (they didn't botch that style of movie as is usually done) for the most part.

And the "To be Continued?" written in madoka font made me roll my eyes. There's so much left to interpretation as well as things left simply open that the movie was clearly made with the intention of a part 4 and most likely a part 5 coming (and the expected sales of tickets/BDs was such that their shareholders wouldn't have allowed them to have part 3 as a decisive end anyhow)

>If I didn't like it, will these movies change my mind?

it might; with most of the angst removed, the movies are a lot more enjoyable. If the series simply wasn't your thing, that much won't change.

1. Greed. She wanted Madoka all to herself, to be a little birdy in her cage that she could do with as she pleased.

2. That aspect was left open to interpretation; open to the point where it could have meant nearly anything or absolutely nothing. If nothing else, she did not die in any sense of the word. It was meant to look like it, that much is certain, but I sincerely doubt she died. . Urobutcher Gen wanted to pull a stunt similar to Anno's stunt at the end of Retake 3, only he didn't know how so he made it very subtle as to not ruin the story (all these years of making anime, and he's finally starting to learn!). I'm sure it will be explained in Madoka movie 4 though.

Oh, and if you do decide to rewatch it, pay extra attention to the Opening. It comically spoils the bigger twist of the movie.

except I disagree with the new stuff opinion; it is SAC with a "more modern" art style, a major design change, and a slight retelling of how section 9 came to be with a couple twists.

Really, it's just more SAC. If you enjoyed the first and second SAC, and the SAC movies (such as innocence), you'll enjoy it.
It's still a work in progress, and there's plenty of room for the story to get botched in the upcoming movies, but it's nothing exceptionally new nor exciting. Just more of.

I think you're being too hard on the other stuff. SAC is in a different style, but it's still good.

Innocence is one of the most beautiful anime films I've ever seen. It takes place in the same continuity as the 1995 film (not SAC, although to confuse things up a little the dub cast is SAC's, not 1995's), but should really be watched as a cyberpunk movie that happens to use Major & friends as the cast.

I'd halfway dropped this franchise after the trainwreck of Nise and mediocre Neko, but Kabuki was actually interesting and enjoyable to watch. Minus the obligatory recap episode at least. I agree, I just think it's ironic that Miyazaki, who complains about the lack of new talent in the industry, has done so much to crush the young and upcoming at his own studio.

I dislike how Miyazaki basically's been elevated to sainthood the past few years. Obviously he's an amazing director and storyteller, but he's also the guy who literally told one of his animatiors to kill himself.
It's funny to compare with Disney, who's gotten a rep as a anti-semitic misogynist after his death, even though evidence even remotely suggesting that don't exist.

Disney refused to let his company be run by jews, in the similar manner that nearly all of Holliwood is. It wasn't until after his death that the jews managed to weasle their way into the upper ranks of the company. Naturally, the jews waited until AFTER they took hold to start complaining about "anti-semitism", least they prove Disney right and therefore not gain access to that venue of revenue.

Takahata has always been an enigma to me, I wish more of his thoughts on film and animation would make it out to the web. I hoped the recent documentary would give some insight, since Takahata was on the poster and the film gave the impression of being about the studio. But it doesn't, he has about three minutes of screentime. They might as well called the film 'Miyazaki smokes cigarettes for two hours'.
Anyway, yeah, I wish more of this kind of critique of Ghibli would be more known in the western nerdosphere.

But instead the cult of Miyazaki is now making small idols of their saviour:

Truly, the net gain of his subwork and the loss of the drama ends with a slight gain overall for fansubbing.

We just need Daiz to join Funimation and teach them how to encode softsubs into their streams so CR-Funi rips become watchable, and Fansubbing will be in a good place for next few years.

And maybe Static Subs and Eclipse will rise from the dead. you never know.

I finished the first season of Psycho-Pass. It was OK. The tone and theming remind me of certain 00s sci-fi anime like Darker than Black or Speed Grapher. I am currently rewatching Tatami Galaxy, and it is a really strange experience. I didn't really realise how I felt when I first watched it back in 2010(?) until the last two episodes, but this time it's really different.

It might be that I've listened to the soundtrack more or less continuously for four years, or that I've matured a lot, but I'm really seeing the entire series in another way. Now when I've finally watched the second to last episode I not only have a heavy heart, but an occupied mind. Yuasa has done an amazing job telling a relatively simple story about a mundane aspect of life with which most people are familiar, in both an imaginative and engaging way. Definitely one of the best anime I have ever seen. I feel sorry for those who don't keep watching until it all comes together, but I can't say that I really blame them.

Sure, Origami isn't "not a terrible person", she's a great person. She goes out there, putting her life on the line to try and kill these aliens to save all of humanity from destruction, and then gets criticized for it because "but their cute gurls!". How can you not respect that?

>How yuri was that movie?

It wasn't.
There is a bit of a thing going on with the shouta and grunhilde, but that's about as far as the love goes.

It's a 1.5 hr OVA that doesn't add or continue anything from the main story line, but it was executed quite well.

The highlights of the movie are: Morika's Uncle Sam recruitment poster, Morika's new blazin' red pirate outfit, Ririka's house party and Chiaki's glorious thighs + she wears Morika's old outfit, and Multi Hyperspace track drifting.

If you can direct me to a place that offers downloads, I would certainly read far more manga than I do currently. I honestly don't know how people read entire series in one sitting without a vertical monitor, scrolling down on every single page utterly ruins the experience. Even a website that loads the page fullscreen would work, but I'm yet to find one. #lurk/CDisplay spoiled me.

Useful torrent site:

http://bakabt.me/

Beware that the last one is a private torrent site.

BBT is hardly private, last I checked.

>>50626
A "free manga downloader" exists which is what I use personally. Another solution exists linked in the manga thread.

Incidentally, I don't understand how anyone can read book-derived comics of any kind one page at a time when it's obviously intended to be read two pages at a time like a book. To my knowledge there are no unofficial manga websites that present them in this way. I've only seen official websites do it, albeit with terrible flash-based readers.
>> No.50629

It requires you to have a seeding ratio of 1:1 or above, otherwise you'll get a warning and you won't be able to download unless you improve your ratio. That constitutes as a private torrent site, doesn't it?
>> No.50630
>>50629
I've had a ratio under 1:1 for as long as I've used it and I've never to my knowledge been warned. Registration isn't based on invites or interviews. I believe an account isn't even required to download, but this may have changed a while back.
>> No.50632

Exactly. You can just google "bakabt animename" and get the torrentpage. Why would anyone register there is beyond me.
>> No.50634
If I recall correctly, BakaBT used to be 'private' - anybody could create an account, but an account was required to download anything and your ratio had to be good enough to keep downloading (apparently; my ratio is over 12 and has never been below 1, so I can't speak from personal experience).

Saw Vampire Wars last night, and it was better than what the ratings give it. It's still very cheesy.

The first episode of Sol Bianca is really good, in contrast, but I guess that's to be expected from AIC and Akiyama at the helm. Looking forward to the next one, as well as the remake.
