A new thread, for a new world!
I was about to delete this until I saw the topic.
Apparently Valve might be implementing the ability to share games with people on steam:"SteamUI_JoinDialog_SharedLicense_Title" "Shared game library" "SteamUI_JoinDialog_SharedLicenseLocked_OwnerText" "Just so you know, your games are currently in use by %borrower%. Playing now will send %borrower% a notice that it's time to quit." "SteamUI_JoinDialog_SharedLicenseLocked_BorrowerText" "This shared game is currently unavailable. Please try again later or buy this game for your own library."
>>46180Share your games with me, Bunonymous.
>>46180I wonder how this will affect Steam's economy. I can already imagine dumbasses trading items with other dumbasses in exchange for shared games.
>>46187You can probably expect groups to become big game sharing rings
Apparently there's some Valve ARG stuff going on. Right now there's some sort of puzzle in surgeon simulator
>>46223This is why I love Valve. They're so stupidly intricate with their riddles. Like the Portal 2 announcement.
>>46224I wish they'd just release more games instead.
I got an update for HL2 that is probably ARG related. I would check it out but that game bores me to tears anymore
The conker devs have continued with their LP, for those of you in the old thread who carehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rEP068R4fg&list=PLFP9r6vJL2qCCERMBP_ZWUEV0vaSL4rHf&index=7
Can't believe there are people who would actually buy things like this. Shame non-foils aren't worth shit or I could make a few bucks.
GTA5 will require an install on 360, which is 8GB. I'm relieved because my HDD is a shitty 20GB one, and once I delete everything else on it I should have >13GB of space on it to work with which will hopefully cover whatever DLC 5 has. I was worried I would need to buy a new HDD for it, and buying a new HDD for a retiring console I barely play in the first place for one game is a purchase that wouldn't sit right with me.
The GTA5 gameplay trailer came out today and it's really made me hyped. It reminds me of San Andreas, in that they throw in as much things as they can (stock markets, car customization, diving, biking, etc). They showed the PS3 version though, so I hope there's nothing horribly wrong with the Xbox version that they're trying to hide
>>46358The shooting and driving actually looked good, that alone made me extremely excited.
I just found out that the fat worthless son of one of the GTA5 protags will be played by Danny Tamberelli. I thought he was dead
>>46358I'm really glad that they're putting back in all the stuff they removed after San Andreas. A large world with a variety of locales, airplanes, bikes, tattoos, car customization, diving underwater...Though GTA IV was a good game, I was disappointed with a number of aspects. Hopefully I won't make the wrong choice by looking forward to GTA V.
Watching the GTAV trailer again and it's starting to be clear how they're going to pack that much into a console game. I was seeing awkward looking LoD models/textures even when objects were a stone's throw away from the character. It looks nice in motion though, which is what really matters I guess
The Second Life people bought Desura, which if you don't know is basically steam for games that aren't good enough to get on steam.
I wish I lived in the UK. Buying games on ebay is nigh impossible with all these "UK only" berks. And such good deals, too.
>>46451>I wish I lived in the UKWhy? To fulfill your lifelong wish of being stabbed?
>>46458> UKThat's not how you spell Chicago nor Detroit.
>>46462Getting shot is probably the primary concern in those cities.
I finally got my hands on Dragon's Dogma (well, the Dark Arisen expansion) and wow! This game is such an amazing timesink.Got my first online Ur-Dragon kill the other day, and now getting ready to finally play the Dark Arisen content, which I heard is really good. I just wish my pawn could get whored out a bit more.
>>46526PS3?
>>46527Yup. Wanna take my pawn-imouto for a ride?
>>46528I haven't played since the original's release, so I doubt I'll be able to help you much.I did buy DA though.
>>46529I see, shame. Still, just taking her out for a few fights or quests would be really helpful. RC is kind of a big thing in DA (it replaces gold), so pawn renting is really important.I have to say, the expansion has blown me away so far. If you have the time and even slightly enjoyed vanilla, I highly suggest playing DA. Forgive me as I blog about my thoughts on it for a bit.I arrived on the new island at well over level 100 with endgame gear. By then, anything the base game threw at me I could deal with in under a minute. I felt pity when fighting boss monsters. So naturally, I got cocky and went in relaxed.Big mistake. Among other things, came the encounter with the chained gorecyclops, which must've been as big as 2 houses stacked together. I spent 10 minutes just trying my damnedest to survive and dodging as best as I can before finally figuring out a way to kill the thing, which took another 20 minutes. I lost 2 of my support pawns for good but man, when it went down, it went down hard, and I felt a sense of accomplishment I haven't felt for a long time. And that's just a mini boss. What I'm saying is, DA made DD challenging again. It forces you to play smart and skilfully, and reconsider your strategies. In return, it made the fights larger, more epic, and more satisfying than ever before. The risk involved reintroduced vital decision-making that's so apparent in early game; tough it out and hope there's a rest spot ahead, or zone out to rest but risk having enemies respawn? It brought back the immersive feeling and danger of early game that was gradually phased out by improved levels and gears. It's more of an improved, DD 1.5 than a simple DLC dungeon. However, DA also unfortunately shows how flawed the base game is and how much better it could have been. You can still cheese your way through just like in vanilla but man, why would you wanna do that?
It's a miracle!!!
>>46541"Guys, if you don’t like the games that Polytron is producing, then why the hell are you here? For those saying this is fake, well, it’s real. Go check out his Twitter. All of these assholes with nothing better to do than hate on Fish are the reason it’s cancelled. All of these assholes should hang themselves for being such a waste of life."
Here's some more of his meltdown. I hope he hangs himself
He'll almost certainly take it back sometime in the future if not in the next few days. This is what I'm hoping, at least; as much as I dislike Fish as a person I really do enjoy Fez.
>>46543Who's Annoyed Gamer and why is Phil Fish so angry at him? Is he that guy who made the video saying Suda51 is a hack because of the gigolo mini game in Killer is Dead?
>>46546I sure love watching those KiD TV videos on youtube and seeing fucking Jessica NIGGRY only nod and laugh and smile. I almost hope the game bombs just for that reason. Absolutely infuriating.
http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2013/07/29/dmc-devil-may-cry-developers-co-founder-can-empathize-with-phil-fish/It sure is wacky that only shit developers are supporting Phil Fish.
Any of you PC /bun/s playing Crusader Kings II? I bought it on sale the day before yesterday, and I'm having a blast. It's basically a real time strategy game where you control a dynasty in a kingdom (or county or whatever) between 1066 and 1452, but unlike Victoria II or Hearts of Iron, you have to handle a lot of court intrigue to conquer and stay alive. It's really cool. I was playing as Iceland, and got my shit handed to me by Norway immediately, but when I became Petty King Murchad I of Munster, things went a lot better. It's got online play, so if anyone knows how to play online, I'm game! Here is a video to give you the basic idea:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tE0Xv48hP5YThey haven't played the game, so that helped me get the general ideas.
>>46575The people at #bun seem to be really into Paradox games (as you can see from their secret image threads which are always filled with Paradox games screenshots).Myself, I don't really like those kinds of games. Europa Universalis 3 is kind of fun for a few hours but then it starts to feel really pointless. I have been playing and loving Civilization V recently (past two months or so), though.
>>46576I'm not a huge history buff, but I've had a fair amount of fun with EU3. The way they designed Japan (even with the latest expansion, which ostensibly focuses on East Asia) is fucking terrible, though. There are only four daimyo, and it takes forever to unite Japan because lolinfamy.
Anyone else planning on getting Dragon's Crown for PS3 on the 7th?
>>46578No, but I will get it if it ever comes out on PC.
The Sims 4 has been announced and will be shown at gamescom in August. Too bad it's an EA product
>>46579You might be waiting quite a while for that.
>>46578I have the Vita version preordered. In other words, no.
>>46578I'm not sure if I'm going to get the PS3 version or the Vita version. Local multiplayer is really fun, but my friends are too lazy to ever make the journey.
>>46586I'm going with PS3 since I don't have any friends and I figured the PS3 would have a bigger online community.
>>46578I was going to get the ps3 version but life got ruined and now my ps3 is in a storage locker. I guess I'm getting the vita version.Does anyone have one of those vita grip accessory things? One of the reasons I wanted the ps3 version over the vita version is that it's just more comfortable to use a controller.
>>46581Then I guess I can try saving up for a Vita.
>>46587Isn't it cross platform?
Hey /bun/, what's a good non-biased gaming news website? From what I've seen, kotaku.com is full of feminists, and destructoid.com thinks Princess Maker is the creepiest thing in the world.
>>46591Well, Princess Maker is kind of creepy. It somehow gets less flak than The Sims, but the premise of raising people is weird in either case.
>>46590Nope. Save data can be transferred between the PS3 and Vita versions, but PS3 version multiplayer only works with other PS3 owners; vice-versa for the Vita version.
>>46591Non-biased game news websites would never get enough money, so they don't exist. Sorry.
>>46591I use Siliconera and RPS. The latter can have some definite 'feminist' moments but it's okay for the most part.
>>46591I read Gameological, Erik Kain's stuff and Gather Your Party. Gameological is the only consistently decent gaming news site I've found. Erik Kain is usually on the money. GYP is kinda shitty and it's run by /v/, but they write some decent articles once in a while.
>>46596>>46598Okay, thanks.
http://www.siliconera.com/2013/08/02/check-out-the-free-to-play-ace-combat-game/It's over. Love is dead. RIP Project Aces.
Another Japanese game featuring breasts (Senran Kagura Burst) is coming to the US, so I hope you all are looking forward to more angry feminists and other assorted internet cancers.
>>46638I'm really upset that it's digital only. Now I have to go buy a SD card for my 3DS.
>>46638That's nice and all, but it's Senran Kagura Burst.I'm going to vomit.
>>46640Whats wrong with Burst?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNnQ2dETRAoI'm pretty hyped.
Picked up Tales of Xillia and Dragon's Crown yesterday. Bee playing Xillia for like two hours, and I have to say I really like the battle system, it's like a combination of Abyss' and Graces'.
Pikmin 3 is great. I'm surprised that it's actually harder than the prequel.
Anyone here played Deponia? It's on sale right now, and I kind of like the art style.
Whole bunch of info about GTA5's online released today. It sounds cool, but I don't know how well my shy, never-use-mic ways will mesh with it
The fucking Doomsday Monolith rapes everything. How are you supposed to survive that?
>>46705git good scrubMore seriously, don't let them get that far in the first place. The trick to that mission to push as hard as you can or else the 'Crons will simply overwhelm you. You'll suffer horrible casualties, but it's the only way given how difficult the mission is with the Titanium Wars mod.
>>46706Push you say? Let's see how Orks work out.>Difficulty 6/10I don't want to imagine what they throw at you in the harder missions.
I finally decided to pick up a 3DS since a couple overlapping coupons at Fred Meyer made an XL $145. I also got Mario Land 3D and Street Fighter 3D.What other 3DS games are worth looking into? Virtue's Last Reward is already on my list.
>>46726Soul Hackers, SMT IV, Kid Icarus Uprising
>>46726Etrian Odyssey IV, Fire Emblem Awakening, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask.
>>46726Devil Survivor, Ace Combat. Don't have it myself but Animal Crossing seems to be a lot of fun. Also, Liberation Maiden and Crimson Shroud are two pretty good eshop games. In other news, I am beginning to think my copies of Xillia and Dragon's Crown got lost in the mail.
>>46727>>46728>>46731Thanks for the super quick replies /bun/s.
http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/08/19/0x10c-in-suspended-animation-community-looks-to-rebuild-notchs-space-sandbox/Notch decided to cancel development on his new game, probably because he remembered he is rich as fuck and doesn't have to do anything for the rest of his life.

>>46768Japan doesn't even have a release date for it yet
Dragon's Crown is super fun, and the art is just gorgeous. Actually really glad I got the artbook with it. Highly recommend it if you got a Vita/PS3.
The audio of GTA5 has been leaked somehow, so if you care about the plot I'd be careful
>>46784Those games have plot!?
>>46785Yeah, two of the GTA games even made me cry.
I have an Asus K52F laptop, but I can't get Space Engine to run on it.Anyone know what the problem might be?
>>46785If you didn't get emotionally attached during the last 20% or so of san andrea I recommend seeing a doctor.
>>46796A significant amount of GTA players don't bother with quests.
>>46797So a significant amount of GTA players never get past the first island? That doesn't sound too fun
>>46798Either they don't, or they use cheats to unlock everything. Also, wasn't it possible in GTA3 to jump the bridge if you try hard enough?
>>46800You sure know a lot about how other people play GTA
>>46801I've played a significant amount of GTA1-3 myself, I've seen two of my brothers play it a significant amount, and I've seen some friends play it. I was pretty much the only one whose playing style wasn't always 'just go ahead and kill and destroy as much as you can (with cheats if necessary)', though I also preferred the 'do whatever you want style' over seriously doing every mission.
Is anyone else enjoying their non-toyota miku? The gamestop I got mine at had 3 preorders.
Nintendo's 2DS announcement is the strangest video game news I've heard in months. I thought April 1st had arrived early. Apparently many people feel the same.
look at this WHAT IS THIS HELP
>>46812This is kind of a good idea, since I thought the 3D feature was pointless, butWhy is it so big? I don't think I'd be able to fit this in my pocket.
>>46812So it doesn't even fold? For being twice the size you'd think they'd just include another analog stick or something. It looks like they took out a speaker too.I guess they're trying to market it as kids toy now or something. Which is kinda odd since I don't think my younger brother's hands are even big enough to hold that comfortably. I probably would have bought a 3ds lite too.
>>46814The original 3ds is about the same size as a DS lite, except a bit thicker.
>>46815Well size wasn't personally my biggest concern when I bought my ds lite. I was more impressed by the brighter screen and better stylus and whatnot. I was under the impression that the 3ds xl was just a stretched out 3ds screen so I figured I wait for an actually improved 3ds. A 3ds lite as it were.
>>46812It's for young kids who break their handhelds.
New Megaman game on kickstarterhttp://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mightyno9/mighty-no-9I mean, uh, NOT megaman. Nope.
>>46833I know I'm going to regret spending $60 on it but I couldn't help myself.
>>46833has tumblr complained that the female sidekick outfits are too revealing yet?
So meruru plus is out today. I really enjoyed totori plus but my general understanding is that meruru is just totori with a better battle system. Although, I'm assuming it has the best battle system in the series since apparently the new rorona remake is using it. Does anyone know if it has added content similar to how totori plus had some extra stuff over totori? Is it worth the $40 for just a digital copy?It does come with a silly hat though...
>>46872Eh, is it out now? I checked the PSN store a few hours ago on my Vita, but didn't see Meruru+ listed. If there's some kind of early purchase bonus like the two costumes for Totori+, I guess I'll get it. Otherwise, I'll wait for when it goes on sale, like Totori+ did in August.Still have to finish Totori+, plus my Vita's memory card is low on space. orz
>>46847Something like that.
>>46873Never mind, I see it. It's in the New Releases section. Swimsuit and straw hat... oh what the heck, why not.
>>46874
For those who were interested in it, I'd hold off on buying Rome 2 for the moment. It has a whole host of issues that make it no so good. Hopefully the worst of them will be patched/modded in the future.
People are getting mad that a character in the new MGS wears a bikini and that Kojima had the gall to say he likes boobs. Is this shit ever going to end?
>>46899Not until the inherently evil patriarchal society, which promotes rape culture, is destroyed and women are no longer oppressed (which is clearly happening in the Western world).
>>46899Dear god. I'm glad I'm not into video games much anymore because the industry is getting to be such a shithole and I only see things getting worse.
for what it's worth I don't think the kind of developer that would take mentally ill peoples' tumblr/twitter rants seriously would be making very good games in the first place
It's OK, everyone! Kojima-san has it under control.
>>46908Unfortunately that may not be the developers' choice if the nutjob hordes spam psychotic e-mails at publishers/sponsors and an exec somewhere decides to give in to avoid supposed bad publicity.
>>46911A big stack of data saying that "women aren't going to spend money on our game, people who like boobs will" is probably worth more to an exec than angry emails. Unless that exec is a woman, in which case that company is doomed anyway
>>46908It's not just tumblr though. Video game "journalists" and other game developers were also talking about how sexist it is.>>46909I fucking love Kojima.
PS Vita TV. wwwwwwww
>>46919>It's not just tumblr though. Video game "journalists" and other game developers were also talking about how sexist it is....because they want SJW cred. When push comes to shove the "journalists" are going to give sterling reviews to the next MGS because sony will pay them to and the "oh no a woman has exposed flesh" thing will be just a memory
>>46921If they keep the $100 pricetag this could actually be very interesting. I don't find it nearly as baffling as giving the Vita-2000 an LCD screen instead of an OLED screen. Wasn't the screen was one of the few things the original Vita had going for it?
>>46921The worst part about the Vita TV isn't even the console itself, but the fact that it's likely the reason why Sony continues to dick over Vita owners by not including an HDMI out.I also find it funny how much people cry about the Vita redesign because it has an LCD screen instead of OLED screen. Sure, the Vita phat's screen is pretty nice, but let's not jump to conclusions until we can actually compare the two and see if the LCD screen is noticeably worse. Having an OLED screen was pretty low on my list of reasons for being a day 1 Vita owner.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFZ9xgjTPyMI wonder what the difference between the PS4 and PS3 versions are going to be.
Since all of you guys seem to be such Phil Fish fans, I thought I'd let you know that Fez is in the new Humble Indie Bundle (together with FTL and some other stuff). You need to pay more than the average to get it (currently $4.56). I've played it for about ~90 minutes now and I'm quite enjoying it.
>>46939I'd rather spend $4.56 on a mousetrap and set it off on my balls
Videos of GTA5 are slowly coming out, right now mostly via some black guy who doesn't know how to take videos longer than 5 seconds.
Turns out you can divide your money as you choose among developers like you can with charities, never knew that. Good news for all the Phil Fish fans out there.
>>46941There's like 4 different leakers I know of and 3 of them are black guys who are too dumb to figure out how to record and upload videos without using vine/instagram.

>>46966oh lord why did I look
>>46966Took care of it. I'm tempted to ask AyaS to just delete /projects/ entirely or disable posting there. Only spambots post on it, and although I sweep through /general/ and /photos/ several times daily, I don't bother to check /projects/.
>>46968now that you can post images on it, /proj/ is a half-decent projects board. it just needs some lurve from the users. that and OC. As that change was rather recent, it just needs some more time to blossom.
>>46969>As that change was rather recent, it just needs some more time to blossom.I myself wouldn't really call '3.5 years ago when the board was first created' recent, but maybe that's just me.
>>46968No don't. Just enable captcha or something not quite as sad.
>>46983;-;
I'm loving how a bunch of reviews are "calling out" GTA5 on misogyny but still giving it it's required high score. "there are no interesting female characters and the game is harmful to society because of it. 9.5 out of 10"
I don't know what to do should I wait for GTAV on PC or not. I know I probably should because if I just get it for console I'll get invested and not want to pay for it on PC at full price. Plus ill have to renew the Xbox live since it goes out next month and otherwise I wasn't planning to pay again.
>>46988I'm getting it for 360 now, and the PC version later. I kinda have the same worry as you but I simply can't wait for another year for this game.
>>46986It's kinda cool because this going to become the fastest selling game of all time, and there is nothing the SJWs can do about it. They can whine about niche japanese games and other smaller releases and pretend they had an effect on it, but not this.
Getting the game would mean going outside.
>>46991Not if you buy the digital download!
>>46992I don't have a PS3 and the 360 digital release is "when Microsoft decides to allow it"
>>46993Why not use Amazon?
That'll take a week. >>46994
turns out the digital version is totally NOT the way to go, because the game gets graphical issues if it's data is all on one drive.
Is La-Mulana good? I hear it's really hard and requires people to make maps and I'm really stupid.
So you can now install the manual...http://www.rockstargames.com/V/assets/manual/GrandTheftAutoV-TheManual.msiIt's also on iOS, and there is a seperate iFruit app for iOS that lets you train Chop and customize your cars.
>>46997It's really good. Try the original freeware version if you're not sure it's the type of game you'd enjoy. The remake is basically the same with some modern game design choices.I don't think you need to make maps; maybe in the original you did but the map system in the remake is adequate. I might be biased though because I used a wiki on more parts of the game than I'd like to admit, probably my biggest regret playing it.
>>46997It's definitely good, especially the early game is fantastic. It starts out very difficult until you figure out what you're doing, after that it becomes just hard, until you get to about the latter half of the game where things just get retarded every now and then. The early game punishes you for trying things at random, but for late-game solutions you pretty much HAVE TO try lots of things at random or check guides. If I recall correctly, none of the early game puzzles truly require you to write anything down, but pen and paper can still be useful in figuring things out. Late-game solutions require information from random places all across the game, so taking notes is absolutely required there. At no point do you have to make maps; the locations look unique enough to make navigation without a map possible, and you find maps in the game.Personally, if you're looking for a La-Mulana kind of game, and you can get over 'but it's made by Phil Fish!', I strongly recommend FEZ instead (currently in Humble Indie Bundle for <5$). With the exception of a couple of anti-cubes (required for the true ending; normal ending is very easy to reach) all of the puzzles make a lot of sense and can be resolved by thinking logically. With the exception of some anti-cubes (some can only be found in New Game+), every single puzzle can be solved without requiring any specific item or other arbitrary progress indicator other than knowledge (sometimes you will need to have seen something elsewhere in the game to solve a specific puzzle). FEZ is basically La-Mulana but without everything I disliked about La-Mulana. (Do note that pen and paper is pretty much essential for FEZ puzzle solving, though. Again, navigation requires no manual mapping (and is always mapped automatically in FEZ).)
I bought it at target but I can't play until very late
GTA5 is pretty cool, I've played it for hours and I haven't even ventured out of the city yet.
ATLUS's parent company, Index Corp., was bought by the company that owns Sega. What will this mean? How will this affect ATLUS moving forward? Dunno.

The only below-positive review of GTA5 on metacritic so far is by the Escapist, and their main criticism was "the characters are too mean". I don't understand
My only criticism of GTA5 is how there is no PC version.
>>47016>below-positive3.5/5 stars is not below positive. And as for the "the characters are too mean" some guy in the forum wrote:>No, not really. The reviewer took no issue with "how the characters killed". He did take issue with "why" the characters killed. In his opinion, there was always a justification to the actions, a silver lining for the character that made them relateable on some level. In this current manifestation, that is not present for him. To quote him specifically, "they are just scumbags.">So no, not really at all. He does not care that they kill, he just believes that they should kill for a deeper reason than killing itself. And honestly, who gives a shit. I only visit The Escapist for Zero Punctuation.
>>47018>3.5/5 stars is not below positiveIt is on metacritic, it puts it under "mixed". Also if the guy cares about death "for no reason" in a GTA game then he's a gigantic moron.
>>470243.5/5 is not below positive regardless what metacritic says. Every human with a brain will tell you that. I think his issue about the pointless deaths lies in the story missions. It's pretty obvious people will fuck around and kill everything in sight sometimes for entertainment and I'm sure the crook who wrote the review also knows that.
>>47027>3.5/5 is not below positive regardless what metacritic says. The focal point of this whole story was "on metacritic".
>>47028Alright, so in the end the Metascore is 98/100. Why are you complaining about The Escapists rating if you prefer Metacritics rating system? It's silly.

I love that GTA5's screencap function is taking cell phone pictures, it makes everything so much funnier for some reason
The lighting and detail in GTA5 is insane, when the PC version comes out and it can have some AA and a draw distance that doesn't blur everything after 50 feet it's going to look incredible.

I can't change the hairstyles/beards of any of the characters because they look so wrong. And only having like 3 beards and 6 hairs isn't helping.
>>47065I kind of like how you can't clean up Trevor's hairstyle. It would ruin his character if you could. All of Franklin's other hairstyles look really dumb, though.Oh, and Trevor is sorta gay. It's pretty great.
The strangest thing about GTA5's customization is that you can pick all sorts of tattoos for your torso even though there's no "shirtless" option. It's not as weird with Trevor since half of his switching circumstances start with him shirtless (and sometimes pantsless), but so far the only time Michael has been shirtless is during one part of one mission and Franklin never.
>>47070Oh, it turns out to be an option after you beat the game. Now I can run around in the woods in my underwear whenever I want!
Today is the day.
SteamOShttp://store.steampowered.com/livingroom/SteamOS/
I was going to try the old monitor tape dot trick with GTA5 so my unnatural sniping and cover shooting skills would make people angry when the multiplayer launches, but it doesn't work since readying your gun to shoot automatically shifts your aim around. Now I have nothing to look forward to
http://store.steampowered.com/livingroom/SteamMachines/
http://store.steampowered.com/livingroom/SteamController/
>>47129I don't even have a Steam account (because I am not into PC gaming) but the controller looks and sounds intriguing.
>>47129That looks dumb as fuck
>>47131The Wii Remote also looks dumb as fuck, yet I always have it with me because it's so great for specific things (mainly visual novels).I'm interested in the Steam Controller. Not interested enough to order one from the start (it'll probably be expensive), but still curious. It has high potential, but that could also turn out as being able to do everything other inputs can do but worse.
>>47132agreed.if the touch pads work wonderfully, I'd be more than willing to shell out $30 or so for one. They would be a massive improvement over a D-pad, once you get used to it. And I'd use it solely to play meltyblood with. The button pad, as well, could emulate the 6 buttons on a dreamcast, or the 4 buttons on a snes controller, or be a 2nd anologue stick/d-pad, or it could be unresponsive as shit and work about as soundly as the 6th axis of a PS3 at launch.Lastly, the button mapping software might need 2-3 months (valve time) to really get the thing up to par to where one would have hoped for from launch. I'd hope for the entire software package around the controller to be fully open source so the modding community can really go to town, but this situation is a bit different than releasing a devkit for counterstrike so the player community can make their own maps and stuff.
>>47134He doesn't know how to use the three Steam Controllers!
>>47129Looks interesting. Dividing the face buttons between the two "sticks" is a novel idea but I'm not sure how well it will work with one stick (the left) usually needing constant attention because it controls movement.>>47133>$30Good luck.
Why is everyone joining that Steam Universe group?
>>47144For a chance at winning a free Steam Box by being picked for beta testing.
In case there any people here that both play Terraria and haven't heard the news: Version 1.2 was released a couple hours ago. It's basically tons and tons of new content.
I don't like that game
The character creator in GTA Online is one of the shittiest things I have ever seen in a video game. I can't speak for the game itself because Rockstar's servers are understandably shitting themselves at the moment but from what I've heard from people who managed to actually plau I don't have very high hopes
>>47160speaking of, I was going to bump the /bun/ terraria server thread and see if that anon would put the server up so we all can explore the new content and stuff together in a medium core world, but I can't for the life of me find that thread.
Even though GTA Online is under the heaviest load it will probably ever have, I still never found a free-aim deathmatch that had more than 6 people in it. Hope you like taking turns auto headshoting each other with whack-a-mole style gunfights!
I still can't start first Online mission.
>>47171Did you even try using search?
>>47178I couldn't all day yesterday until around midnight EST. This is on xbox though, I heard PS3 users are having more problems, like their consoles hardlocking when trying to connect
Rockstar deciding to force people to sit through a long unskippable cutscene and tutorial missions before you can do anything in GTA Online is the worst thing since, well, since the character creator in GTA Online.
Just stop.
>>47190>megaDo you have to digivolve them now?
They are trying to push out another title update tomorrow to fix Online.
>>47199And then the weekend will come and it's problems will increase 10x
One of the worst things about Online so far is how player characters have way less detail than they should. My character looks like her pants are melting because the textures are so blurry, and my other character's beard looks like it was painted on. Rockstar was acting like Online was going to be a big deal with a lot of attention put into it but it sure doesn't seem like that's true.
Terraria 2 announced: http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/10/03/terraria-2-announced-creator-wants-to-include-infinite-worlds/
>>47203Yeah, it's called Starbound
Why would I play the sequel to a clone game?
>>47205Because it's as much a clone game as Sonic is a Mario clone; there's clearly copied elements, but the game as a whole is entirely different. And Terraria is fucking amazing.
>>47203More info: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/10/03/terraria-2-announced/
BF4 Beta is now available to all, it's not good.
>>47216Dice betas are actual betas, I.E: the game is clearly incomplete with bugs and exploits and other things that need to be ironed out as well as missing major features (that are still being worked on).
The GTAO update is working!
Don't hit "retry" if you get disconnected from GTAO because apparently that's what is deleting peoples' characters.
I hope Top Fun 3 will have 16 players.
Another title update is rolling out, tomorrow for most.
Are there any fun online games that aren't pay to win grindfests right now? You know, games that have some kind of special qualities to them with a learning curve and everything...
>>47310There's always Haven & Hearth, but that depends on whether or not you consider constantly living in fear of being killed by other players and a combat system that won't let you kill even a fox unless you're a pro 'fun'.
I finally got an apartment in GTAO. Some thoughts-Why the fuck can I not run in it, it's my house!-switching channels on my TV is a pain because some of the channels are camera feeds, meaning you have to wait for it to load in-game things-My character showers in a swimsuit. I'm not really sure why (rockstar has no problems with showing male or female nudity) but whatever-There's no customization. At least it looks cool anyway-The telescope is really funny because the game can't handle zooming to far away things very quickly, leaving gaping holes in the landscape for a few seconds. It's almost worse than the one in single player. Might be fun to spy on other players with it though
is there a bun rockstar social club crew? i'd be down for some socially awkward 360 GTAO stuff where nobody talks
I got the 400k apartment first day it worked after grinding the 9k mission
http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/51565/grand-theft-auto-online-half-a-million-gta-stimulus-package-this.html
>>47332the 400k apartment is basically a trap because it is no different than any of the other high-end places and it has the shittiest view.
In GTAO a guy kills me while I am in the unskippable cutscene where I drive a car out of my garage and gets rewarded, I later snipe his bike from yards away and blow him up and not only do I get a pop up threatening punishment but I have to pay for the bike. I can't even imagine how they could come up with a system as stupid as this
>>47403Huh? I haven't been following GTA since San Andreas, but isn't the entire goal of GTA blowing up and killing everything?
>>47404The goal of GTA5's multiplayer seems to be doing neutered versions of things you could do in the single player with 10x more annoyances, bugs, and connection issues.
Oh another GTAO tip: don't buy a tank. Other players can destroy themselves just by ramming into it and it counts towards your bad sport level, banishing you to cheaterville.
HOW TO BE A COMPLETE ASSHOLE IN GTA ONLINE (without being considered a "bad sport" and sent to hell)1. Get a car capable of exhaust backfire. I think all cars can after an engine upgrade, I personally use the futo2. Get a jerry can, they can be bought in gun stores for some reason3. Locate the car insurance building. It is in mid/southern LS right next to a flying race marker, with a gun store right down the street. If you still can't find it, destroy a personal car of yours with insurance and it will spawn around there when you call it in.4. Drive around the car insurance building until you see someone's personal car. You can usually tell them apart from NPC cars just by looking, but if you want to make sure you can try getting in them (personal cars will either not let you in, or be completely unlocked. if you smash it's window to get in, it aint a personal car)5. If you don't see a personal car, go to the Online tab in the pause menu and find a new session (make sure you have spawn location set to "last location" instead of "property" in the options, or you will have to drive back to the building upon arriving every time)6. When you find one, dump the jerry can on it. The key here is getting it on the engine block, so what I do is splash it around the wheel and then climb on the hood (or back, if it is a car with a rear engine) and dump gas up there.7. Hop off the car and dump a gas trail leading to your car's tailpipe8. Have your car backfire onto the trail, done by holding the brake and revving the engine. Be sure to drive forward a bit after the backfire or else you will set your own car on fire!9. The gas trail should be lit and flames should slowly be creeping toward the target car, and it will soon explode, costing the other player another insurance payment as if it was their fault somehow.PROTIPS-If you want to avoid blame, drive away after you set the trail on fire. They will be looking for anyone right next to it after they get the "your car is fucked" message, not someone blocks away. If you're lucky some other poor idiot will be driving by when they check, and the only thing better than no blame is getting someone else blamed!-Motorcycles can be trickier to light since you cant climb on top, what I do is make a ring of gas around it instead-If the suspected car owner is almost there and you haven't lit the gas yet, you can take cover behind it and have them shoot at you. They will light the gas themselves!-If you want to spice things up a bit, look for other players in stores and blow up their cars while they are busy. A flaming wreck doesn't make a very good getaway car!
THE GTA$ STIMULUS PACKAGEWe know many of you are anxiously waiting for us to show you the GTA$ Stimulus Package money we announced a couple weeks back. As mentioned in that post, we of course want to ensure that game progress loss issues are sufficiently sorted before distributing the GTA$ to everyone. We have a few more tweaks and fixes to make in a new title update that will hit sometime next week and then we will distribute the cash.
>>47449I've gone back to playing single player after dicking around in Online since it started, and I'm having way more fun. I forgot how nice it was to be able to do whatever you want without it being locked behind a level grind, and having a character with textures that don't look like they are melting/from the N64
So Sony produced published an FAQ for the PS4, and a great deal of feedback has been outrage over the lack of "DLNA support". I'd never even heard of DLNA before until now. Not once have I ever considered or bothered to have a custom soundtrack while playing games on my PS3. Is this really such a deal breaker to so many people?Reminds me a bit of the outrage over the Vita 2000's LED screen--people complaining because there's something to complain about.
>>47476I often listen to stuff while I'm playing games, but I use my computer, or my Vita generic mp3 player.
Update (Nov 1): Currently, we expect the next title update (1.05) addressing player progress loss issues to be available sometime early next week. Following that, we hope to deliver everyone’s GTA$ Stimulus Package before the end of next week. A big thank you to GTA Online players worldwide for your continued patience and understanding and we will continue to keep you all updated.
>>47479Thanks to glitching car sales I already have more money than I'll ever spend. If I was a higher level I could spend it on attack helicopters and tanks, but I don't think I will ever get that far. Plus they are dumb items to buy since the game will punish you for using them.
>>47476I remember thinking custom soundtracks were like the coolest thing back on the Xbox, and I really hated how few games actually supported the feature. Now I realize that in almost all cases it is better to enjoy the game's natural soundwork. Multiplayer is probably the biggest exception.
>>47500I liked how San Andreas handled it.
"We have begun the Stimulus Package direct deposit into each of your in-game bank accounts. This GTA$500,000 deposit applies to all GTA Online players in the month of October 2013. We expect that it will take up to 2 full days for the Stimulus Package to be fully delivered to the entire player base from October 2013, so please be patient if you do not see it appearing in your in-game bank account just yet."
>>47542I got my 500k, plus an extra dollar for some reason
Wow. There are 6 wall mounts for bikes in your garage, but you can only keep 3 at a time. There are 6 bikes you can order.
>>47554Yeah it makes no sense. On the other hand there's only 2 bikes worth having anyway (the best bike capable of hopping, and the best race bike)
Screensaver that pulls in the pictures uploaded from GTAV released. http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/51770/the-snapmatic-screensaver.html
>>47559people still use screensavers?
oh my fucking GOD
>>47566Is this Dead Rising 3?
>>47570Yep! On the glorious cutting edge Xbox One, a machine with specs that must be taken into account when developing cross-platform games until well into the 2020s
>>47566As soon as that trailer was shown at E3 all interest in this series died. It's meant to be a wacky homage to the zombie splatter craze, not fucking grimdark greybloom zombie killer #5123.I hope it bombs.

sub-20 FPS when there isn't even anything going on
has anyone played senran kagura?I have some money to waste but I don't know if I want this.
>>47591Which one?
>>47602He means Senran Kagura Burst. It was released on the NA eShop yesterday.I was also on the fence about getting it, and decided to wait around and see if it goes on sale. According to someone who started playing it already, the framerate gets kind of bad in combat, and that's with the 3D effect turned off.
Meanwhile, in DOA.
I'm so bored of GTAO now. I'm at the point where I'm only leveling to unlock new clothes (which almost always look like shit anyway) and almost none of the weapons I have left to unlock are things I can even use (grenade launcher isn't a very nice thing to have if blowing up cars gets you in trouble). The only fun I've had is tormenting people from the rooftops with my sniper rifle, but even that isn't too fun anymore. I wish they would announce the PC version already, so modders can make custom multiplayer servers that are actually fun
I bought PayDay2 for $15 it is fun but the difficulty curves all over the place the rating system isn't accurate at all. And you unlock the 2 best normal weapons in like first 10 ranks.
Apparently the Xbox One's infrared camera can see your dick through your clothes.
They might have lied. Beach Bum Update is a seperate download, it's on the top page of Games tab on 360.
>>47624can it see tits/vaginas
The Spike VGAs are coming up, and the nominees are as hilarious as always. The "best PC game" category looks like they picked whatever arty indie games were selling on steam at the moment plus Battlefield 4 because EA, and their "best voice actor" award has Troy Baker nominated twice. And of course several games that aren't even out yet are also up for awards
No it's the VGX now Video Games XTREME
Everything in the GTAO DLC sucks dick except the dune buggy, and they cut the mission and race rewards down even more. They are also clearing glitched cars out of peoples' garages because I guess letting people have their own cop cars was a little too fun. At least now I'm no longer on the fence about whether I should get an xbox live card for it again or not
I bought a couple of Vita games and was excited to play them, until I found out that the AUX entrance has been broken, so it only plays the right channel. Really bitter.
The Xbone review embargo has been lifted and even the review places that were paid to desperately try and make it sound good still can't quite do it
>>47632You mean you bought a used Vita? Sounds like you got what you paid for.
>>47634It wasn't broken when I bought it this spring, though, so it's probably my fault for putting the damn thing in my pockets with the headphones in for hours every day.
>>47637I'm too scared of scratching the screen to ever put my vita in my pockets.
>>47639Mine had two tiny ones that you couldn't see, but I have given it a couple small, but visible ones, which I don't really like.
>>47639Nintendo solved this 9 years ago by allowing you to fold the handheld, protecting both screens from damage. They then proceeded to release a product a month ago that has two screens yet cannot be folded. Oh, Nintendo.
breathtaking
http://www.dualshockers.com/2013/11/24/persona-4-dancing-all-night-announced-for-ps-vita-by-atlus/Unbelievable! Could you imagine the step? It's genius!
>>47652Persona 4 is really popular with Vocaloid weeaboo's, so I get that there's an audience. It's just retarded at face value.
Persona 5 has Abraham Lincoln in it.
>>47658My biggest hope for P5 is that it'll feature Sonic as a usable Persona or a hidden boss.
Starting tomorrow, all rifles and rifle accessories will be 50% off. All black clothing/accessories will be 50% off. Some black car modifications will be 50% off. http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/51875/holiday-weekend-discounts-in-gta-online-turkey-shoot-black-frida.html
>>47663I wish I could use rifles to hunt animals but animals don't spawn in online
>>47664Then I guess its time to hunt the most dangerous game of all.
I didn't know there is an SCP based game. After a couple of minutes playing I only have one thing to say. Goddamn, fuck 173.
>>47680Lowtax did a "let's play" of that game; it seemed pretty shitty.
>>47696I'm sorry but that video is shit. Two silly guys desperately trying to be funny with an mindset like they're playing an AAA original CoD shooter and not paying attention to the game at all.It has some good points. The blinking mechanic in combination with 173 makes some entertaining gameplay and with the random map generator you can't get too familiar with the place. You can develop tactics for some rooms though. The other SCPs also make some good scares and sometimes force your ass into unknown locations. The game itself is pretty cheap I'll give you that, but it scared me more than Dead Space and other games which count as spooky or eerie or whatever these days. And considering it's for free, I can't ask for more.
>>47698Lowtax and Shmorky are big faggots (shmorky literally) but the game is still garbage. The monster looks stupid and it relies entirely on jumpscares which is the cheapest thing possible. Make a program that randomly flashes a picture of a skeleton on your monitor and you will get the same experience
>>47699Man, who pissed in your champagne? Have you played the game for a bit? I said there are also other SCPs with diversity and different behaviour than 173. There were pretty long passages where I didn't meet him at all. Also I would like to see a horror game without jumpscares, because as far I can tell every game I played so far had at least one of them.
Starbound is pretty fun. I'm worried I'll get burned out on it before the beta is over, which would be a shame because it clearly has a long way to go and I don't want to miss it
>>47723If it's anything like Terraria, you'll find yourself having had enough of it for a couple weeks at most and then get completely addicted to it again when you restart later.
There's already going to be a Starbound patch today to add/fix things people were talking about yesterday, so if this is the kind of quality control we can expect then I'm pretty excited
I don't like terraria why would I want a space skin on top of it
>>47729You don't. If you don't like Terraria, you probably won't like Starbound, let alone its beta version.
Starbound is already leagues ahead of Terraria and it's not even finished.
It makes me laugh that cheap housing projects are the ape people villages in Starbound

SteamOS has been released. http://store.steampowered.com/steamos/
>>47784Looks crappy
>>47789I installed it as dualboot, but it doesn't support my hardware so Steam doesn't boot. I could fix it, but Valve did some shit making it more difficult to configure (some default settings can't be changed through the GUI, when you check the box it automatically unchecks, that kind of shit) so I just gave up since it's clear they really don't want me to use it as a desktop OS.Maybe I'll try again later when it's further into beta or released.
>>47790Oh, one note before anyone tries anything stupid: SteamOS does not support dual boot by default. The installer will wipe your entire HDD regardless of what you select during install. Don't try it on a HDD with actual data on it unless you know what you're doing (and have edited the install script).
GTA Online is now so broken that people can glitch a such absurd amount of money that it fucks the counter up and becomes negative dollars. You can put negative dollar bounties on people, meaning if they get killed then whoever killed them loses that money. -22 billion dollar bounty = be VERY careful around that red dot on the radar
>>47792GOTY
Capture mode update is tomorrow.
>>47795You'd be pretty insane to try to play GTAO right now with people being able to wipe your bank accounts on a whim, unless you're playing alone and if you are doing that you might as well play story mode since it's better anyway
http://gematsu.com/2013/12/3rd-super-robot-wars-z-announced-ps3-ps-vitaWell shit, the only real new entry is Aquarion EVOL and Unicorn, huh. I was almost sure AO will be in it with how prominent E7 has been in the series. Is the /bun/ny who always post these SRW news alright?
>>47823I really hope it has a team attack with Simon, Noriko, and Shinji. If it doesn't I'll be fine because I'm keeping the hope alive that Diebuster will be in Z3.2 and that will have the team attack.
>>47824Final Gainax Special? I hope so as well!I wonder if the first part will end with Gunbuster's end, so that they can introduce the time skip sequels in Z3.2 (AO, Eva, Double Wrong Tetsujin, SKL?) But since EVOL and UC is already there, it's probably just another alternate world again. Whatever happens will ultimately leave me disappointed, however, as I've come to accept the Z series will not include Gaogaigar's Project Z.

I bought DayZ but it has problems.
>>47868Lots of problems, but they tell you that before you buy the game and every time you start it up.It's lots of fun though. I bought it last week and I've played over 40 hours of it. But I'm starting to get bored so I'll probably take a break until they add more content (and hopefully fix some of the larger bugs).

Singularity is pretty ok, I guess. I like it the most when it's a straight corridor shooter, strangely, probably because I don't usually play them. The time thing is a little fun, and it felt great to grab a petrol barrel out of the air and throw it back.
>>47905Damn. I started playing it again recently (played most of it back on Xbox; yes really) and I'm amazed by how well it still holds up. I'm actually enjoying it more, since back then I didn't really think it was that great. Maybe I have a better appreciation for/understanding of good game design now.
Today's GTAO maintenance period is being used to remove all funds that were gained through hacks, including those that received money from hackers but themselves did nothing. People who unknowingly participated will suffer no consequences other than removal of said money. People who did may be sent into the cheater pool or banned entirely.
