New year, new anime.Has dame-dame Milky Holmes finally returned?
I'm so excited for Kancolle. I had initially set my expectations really low, but having seen snippets of the leaked pre-screening camrip, I'm starting to think that Garupan level isn't an impossibility. Also pretty hyped for Ansatsu Kyoushitsu as well, having marathoned the manga this summer.Other shows in no particular order: Yurikuma, Saenai Heroine, Graffiti, DRRR2, A/Z2, IM@S CG, JoJo, Rolling Girls, and Maria.
I don't understand why Hirai is still able to get a job as a character designer.
>>50110People got impressed with Dancouga and thought he could do the same with characters.
Only series I'm interested in this season is Durarara.
>>50114I haven't been following animé stuff for quite a while. Is studio "Shuka" related to Brains Base somehow?
It's telling when you're following hentai more than mainstream anime atthis point.
>>50115Now that you point it out...I didn't notice it had a new studio. I figured Brains Base would make this season, too. I've never heard of Shuka, and apparently this is the first series they're handling by themselves...However, the staff seems to be the same, so I'm still hyped.
>>50117>However, the staff seems to be the sameOh, okay, that's great. Sweet, finally a must-watch animé.
http://youtu.be/WtI_h5_Db98All that Kayana Mui. This season couldn't begin soon enough.
Female room mate, crazy bunny girl, self-insert protag with his own special ability that sets him apart from other already special people. This is IS with magical powers instead. Can't tell if it's going to be better or worse than Mahou Sensou, not that it matters because it's going to be terribad either way.I hope Yurikuma delivers.
>>50140Oh yeah,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBkXWtMZlUkthe opening, which you can hear in the PV linked above, was the best thing about the 20 something minutes I spent watching this episode.
The first episode delivers. I hope the decent quality is maintained in the future episodes.
Yuri Kuma Arashi has some amazing music. I'll have to check out the soundtrack regardless of whether or not I continue following this series.
>>50148~guri guri guri guri guri guri~
I'm happy to see that this Misaki-Kurehito-original-charadesign show is easy to watch unlike last season's Waremete.Kayano Ai's voice works perfectly with Utaha and Eriri is the qt'est.
I really enjoyed the first episode of iM@S (2011) TV series, and the first episode of Cinderella Girls follows up with a great opening of its own.I love how visually pleasing this whole episode is.Takeuchi-P is way better than Akabane-P
So we've got Milky Holmes + maybe the Feathers + Kokoro-chan trying to collect the fragments of an idol girl's voice that was scattered into people's hearts? It's almost like a retarded pop-idol version of Princess Tutu.
>>50156But is it any good? There's plenty of series that have cute girls but aren't good.
oh my.I recognize that door quite well.
Aldnoah 13: I fucking called it, the episode.ED Song isn't as good.>>50161This episode was numbered 0 with a good reason, so I'm waiting for the first few actual episodes before deciding whether the series is any good, but I did certainly enjoy the episode.
>>50160I'm down with it. So long as Feathers continues to be the red headed stepchild that gets abused all the way through the season, without any redeeming scenes what-so-ever.
LOVE MAKING!I'm not going to call it an artistic masterpiece, but this is entertaining.
>>50192What happened to their legs?
>>50193What's wrong with their legs?
>>50195the knees are effeminately twisted inward, but the feet are straight.
that's quite the mess she made.
>>50199I still don't quite get what silver-haired girl's angle on this situation is.
Yuri Kuma Arashi's third episode was the best yet. Every part of it was great.
>>50201I hope so, if this wasn't Ikuhara I probably would have dropped it after 2.
>>50202Disclaimer: I also loved ep1 and ep2.I'm not sure what it is precisely, but it seems a lot of people are going in with certain expectations due to the director and coming out disappointed because it doesn't meet those expectations. As someone who's never seen an Ikuhara show before and thus went in without any expectations I'm loving every moment of it; I see the criticisms and can only think 'well, that's just what the series is like', and feel people's expectations based on earlier works leaves them unable to appreciate Yuri Kuma Arashi's style. That's what it feels like to me, anyways.
>>50203>As someone who's never seen an Ikuhara show beforeI'd almost recommend stopping Yurikuma and watching Utena or Penguindrum right now. They both had far better openings than this show, and your first Ikuhara is usually the one you'll like the most.
>>50203I also think you should watch Utena and Penguindrum first. YKA feels a lot like a combination of both those shows when it comes to symbolism and story construction, though I'd say so far YKA has been making better use of flashbacks than Penguindrum.
>>50203I feel like the show has an interesting premise, but the last 2 episodes have been kind of repetitive, and the protagonist is starting to come off as an incompetent moron. Still going to watch it to the end though, since it's at least something a bit different from the usual fare, and the director has been quite successful with his other works. I'm expecting it to pick up after a bit.
>>50212>but the last 2 episodes have been kind of repetitiveBut isn't that the whole point? I feel ep3 really demonstrated the power of repetition by making slight exceptions to demonstrated patterns (for example, the transformation scene); because you expect it to be the same, it has much more impact when there's even a slight difference.Saying YKA is repetitive is like saying Sharnoth is repetitive. Yes, it is, but it's artistic use of repetition and the fact that it's completely the same is the whole point.
>>50214>its fine because its artmb i shud stab u in da dik n call it art
>>50216Well, you're free to not enjoy the repetition if you don't want to, but I feel it adds a lot.
>>50214Sure, you can take it as an artistic choice, but I still would call it a mediocre one and personally would've enjoyed it more if they'd used the screen time for something else.I guess some of its always going to come to personal preference though. I also didn't much care for Endless Eight/Nisemonogatari/that one rom-com where the protagonist is pursued by a cute girl but he refuses to acknowledge her love and they make the same jokes but no relationship progress every week.
>>50219Preach it, brother.
Whaaaaaaaaat?! Just what the hell does this mean?Well, for the people bothered by the repetition, episode 4 is just what you wanted. And anybody attempting to understand what it 'really means' is now probably confused as fuck. I know I am.
>>50228So is like Kureha the human reincarnation of a bear whom Ginko loved and lost? I'm not really sure what's going on.
>>50230That last scene from which I posted a screenshot seems to imply there is a connection between Kureha's mother and Ginko - it might even be so that Kureha's mother is the person Ginko lost. It's at least confirmed that the person in question is a human.
>>50231That was my first thought too.Episode 4 was way better than the first three, I hope it keeps this up. Ikuhara in 13 episodes is pretty shit.
>>50231ohhh, I see. That makes more sense.
Manga already explained the connection, though I don't know if they'll keep it the same. Can't believe you guys had to have it pointed out like that to notice the necklace though.
It's just so mediocre. I can't hate it as much as Futari wa, but I'm not getting the excitement of the original & Dai 2 Maku either.
Death Parade is very decent, even though it has yet to be any better than Death Billiards. I sure hope it doesn't run out of ideas. The show hinges on the believability of the characters and I can easily see that being mishandled. Ep 1 was almost too cheesy with the girl going crazy at the end but I decided to press on. Thankfully it was satisfactorily addressed in ep 2.
>>50249What is the relation between Death Parade and Death Billiards, and what kind of people would you recommend Death Billiards to (does it have great story, or is it great in animation, or...?)?
>>50250Death Billiards is just one episode, it was part of the Young Animator Training Project. Just give it a watch if you're at all interested, it looks great and the storytelling is good. Death Parade is a series based on the same format as Death Billiards. It also fleshes out the show's setting and recurring character. The show focuses more on the psychological aspect than on the games themselves. Don't go in expecting Kaiji.
I want to lick her scar.
>>50251Death Billiards also sucked balls, so I haven't bothered with the series.>>50253Ja.
and now we go into censorship overload.
>>50266MEANWHLIE, IN ISUCA...
>>50266Starting to debate whether to finish this or put it on hold until BDs come out.
>>50267MEANWHILE, EARLIER IN TESTAMENT
Fucking lazy Corean animators, they forgot to draw Poi's fucking pinky finger.
So we're going through the S2 plot all over again:lock somebody sane in with the MH girls until they snap and need psychiatric treatment for the rest of their lives.
Kazumalice didn't even get a cameo this week. Is this the end of the Feathers?!
hooray censorship
shh
>>50355
Is Sumika Jesus?
Any idea if this flopped stupidly hard?
>>50448I don't think all the data is in yet, but currently it's sold about twice as well as Futari wa. In the range of 1/2-1/3 of Dai 2 Maku. About where I'd say it belongs, personally.
Yuri Kuma Arashi v1 only sold 918 BDs. (Source: http://www.someanithing.com/3103)
>>50459It sucked ass, I'm not surprised.
>>50448Looking at that I can see why people say all anime characters look the same.
>>50605
>>50606Oh dear.
>>50605That has nothing to do with lazy animators, it's an intentional thing because all asians rook same and that cultural trait is reflected in the country's works.
>>50611I'd like to see some sources on your claim.
