Despite Pokemon being a kids' game, sometimes I find some pokedex entries to be pretty dark. Post some in this thread if you know any good ones.

I will start with Yamask.

Pokemon Black:
"Each of them carries a mask that used to be its face when it was human. Sometimes they look at it and cry."

Pokemon White:
"These Pokémon arose from the spirits of people interred in graves in past ages. Each retains memories of its former life."

A lot of pokedex entries imply that pokemon kill each other.

Scyther

Pokemon Yellow:
"Leaps out of tall grass and slices prey with its scythes. The movement looks like that of a ninja."

Pokemon FireRed:
"It tears and shreds prey with its wickedly sharp scythes. It very rarely spreads its wings to fly."

Paras:
Blue/Red: "Burrows to suck tree roots. The mushrooms on its back grow by drawing nutrients from the bug host."
Yellow: "Burrows under the ground to gnaw on tree roots. The mushrooms on its back absorb most of the nutrition."

Parasect:
Blue/Red: "A host-parasite pair in which the parasite mushroom has taken over the host bug. Prefers damp places."
Yellow: "The bug host is drained of energy by the mushrooms on its back. They appear to do all the thinking."

Yellow: Wears the skull of its deceased mother. Its cries echo inside the skull and come out as a sad melody.

I suppose it'd be useful to post it here as well, for those who don't visit /jp/.

It's up "permanently" again now. ("Permanently" meaning until it breaks again.)
Not sure about stability, and as usual, using an actual client like Filezilla is strongly recommended.

OMG. Its you. Thank you. I downloaded Narcissu, and have been running through it a few times. Its strange, eery and very Japanese. Thanks. Anything that you have that is like it? ( The music...I played it in the cafiteria, and made several CDs for people.

Just Thanks!

Narcissu has a translated prequel, Narcissu Side 2nd. That's probably the closest thing there is to Narcissu. For some reason it wasn't on the FTP, so I uploaded it just now. Alternatively, you can download it from the translator's web site at http://www.neechin.net/narcissu2/140/narcissu-2-download-page

>You haven't actually played Grisaia, have you?
Why would I.
>INTENDED TO BE GENERIC
Oh, oh! I'm getting a brainwave from the Grisaia dev room here:

dev-san: This design isn't working, she looks a lot like Mafuyu from Kanojo x Kanojo x Kanojo, Yami from ToLoveRu and also a million other characters.
dev-kun: But they don't have pink fanny packs!
dev-san: I don't think that's good enough.
dev-chan: I have an idea! What if we write her, like, she wants to become a generic tsundere!
dev-san: What do you mean?
dev-chan: I mean, she intentionally dresses to become a tsundere, and also acts like one, for some unexplained reason.
dev-kun: And that unexplained reason could later be explained, and turn into forced drama! I like it!
dev-san: But what about the pink fanny pack. What's with the pink fanny pack.
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

And here's Luso again, he was re-designed for his appearance in the PSP port of FFT. I think they did a pretty great job with salvaging his design and it's a good example of how less really can be a lot more.
They removed a bunch of pointless accessories, shrunk others down, his colour scheme is a lot duller and finally they accentuated the reds. If you look at him now, your will probably be drawn towards the chest area, and then move up to the beret, and after spending some time there you'll explore the rest of his design. There's a clear path laid out for your eye to follow and it's not nearly as confusing as his DS debut. It's still a bit clusterfucky though, but I guess the devs had to make a couple of compromises with the design so that he'd still be recognizable as Luso.
So I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you really want your character to have a god damn fanny pack (<--really bad idea), at least give it a neutral colour that jams with the rest of the design instead of a glaring hot pink.

Twintails can work on Japanese girls below the age of 20, but that doesn't count 'cause Japanese girls below the age of 20 are magic. There are also other isolated cases where twintails work, but they don't count either, 'cause they are also magic.
