Not necessarily, it depends on various factors.

For water, the velocity and shape is very important - water is generally harmless because all the drops split up and are pushed out of the way when your body goes through water or water hits your body. However, if either the water or the body has enough velocity (such as when jumping into a lake from a height of 100m, or just shooting water with extremely high pressure), it'll happen too fast for the drops and the body to neatly wrap around each other, and the result is that it feels like you're hit by solid concrete. With enough velocity and a stable shape you could stab or crush someone to death with it.

But, at least touching a leaf won't kill you, right? WRONG. Even in the real world, there exist plants like aconitum ("wolfsbane"), which will cause heart problems even with a regular touch. It's such a potent poison that historically it's been used for making poisonous arrows for actual human-to-human combat, and even for making poisoned bullets (in relatively modern times when we had artificial poisons). Touching it is likely to kill you in 2-6 hours, but sufficiently lethal doses (such as repeatedly having them thrown at you) can be fatal immediately.

I've never really considered the possibility of a reboot before; one of the draws of Pokemon is how each generation builds on top of the last, after all. It makes me wonder when/if these games will reach "peak" Pokemon where porting tens of hundreds of Pokemon to a new generation becomes impractical.
>> No.31843
I was thinking about how previously all pokemon, including hidden ones, had to be inserted into the code of each game before release, but these days with how 3DS works, they can just release games and then update them with new content later. So even if they make a game with an incomplete pokedex, they can always make new updates and add some older pokemon. Maybe this way they can even stop cheaters from obtaining certain legendaries.

>aconitum ("wolfsbane")
You can also use it to brew the Draught of Living Death.

I can think of only a handful of pokemon that look dangerous, though.

I have a computer-related question and I didn't know where to put so I'm just making a thread for it.
I'm currently running a dual-monitor set-up and I want to add one more monitor, but apparently the graphics card I'm currently running (Geforce GTS 450) can't do three monitors. So I thought I'd add another cheap card and connect my two extra monitors to that, while my main monitor could use the 450.
I'm just a little worried since I've never really tinkered with a computer. Would this actually work, and are there any special things I need to consider?
>> No.31767
IIRC, there's nothing stopping you from doing that as long as your motherboard has an unused pcie slot and your PSU can support the extra load.
>> No.31768
Couldn't you just hook it up to your motherboard directly and use the onboard video?
>> No.31769
Not all mobos have onboard video. If he had one, I'd imagine that he wouldn't be asking here.

Happy New Year!

So did anybody make any resolutions? I didn't bother as I'd just wind up breaking them, most likely the very next day.

A bit late but, Happy New Year.

I was over at the /a/ board attending their "party". There were several stickies(one after another) up with links to the /a/ radio. I tuned in, read the constant flow of posts and refreshed for the frequent gif background change. It was moving so fast, I think one sticky achieved 4.5k posts in an hour and a half? It felt like a concert!

I really had fun this new years eve.

It's hopeless for me too.

Although "Racist!" is termed as "anti-semitism!" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_antisemitism#A_political_ploy_to_stifle_criticism_of_Israel, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_israel#Criticism_stifled_by_accusations_of_antisemitism)

There's an obvious bias leaning toward the pro-Israel point of view because of a genocide that Zionist extremists have continued to use as a political tool to get what they want. (See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Holocaust_Industry)

Important thing to note, Stephen Colbert in particular nailed this one.

It is racist and highly offensive to say "Jews should go back to Poland, Germany, etc" but to say "Palestinians should go to other Arab lands!" is NOT seen as racist/discriminatory or offensive.

Colbert's "Palestinians should go back to where they came from!" really shocked the Israeli ambassador who came on. He was left totally speechless.

It's a mosaic featuring his favorite anime. Making 3x3 mosaics of your favorite things is a 4chan fad that started maybe a couple of years ago.

I guess I can't expect this to be a popular thread, but I imagine that we could see some surprising responses.

Do you consider yourself a healthy person? Do you enjoy exercise? Do you have any fitness goals? If you work out, what is your routine? Feel free to discuss anything related to your physical well-being, or lack thereof.

Good luck, abdominal flab can be hard to get rid of. I know a couple of guys who only got rid of their love handles by waging long wars of attrition against them. It's tough, but definitely doable.

OK,I went to the gym today, but didn't know what the hell to do,so I ended up doing cardio all day.

I want a body like Zyzz, minus the ugly ass tattoos so what do I need to do?

By the way,I already have a high level of testosterone,so I won't need to abuse injections, since I realize I'll get at least one reply saying steroids.

I'm just tired of always feeling back pain when I'm forced to carry a heavy backpack at university, and I want to look like the Dovahkiin.

Eat at a caloric surplus and increase the workload every time you go to the gym. Do this for a year or so.

I'm not even being facetious.

What are you reading /bun/?
Just finished After Dark, short and sweet, really liked it.
Komugi was so adorable~

I want to read some good fantasy now, probably going for a Song of Ice and Fire but recommendations are very welcome.
Or maybe I'll just read some Bukowski, I think I have a book laying around here somewhere.

Malazan Book of the Fallen

Jesus Christ that is a long series. Pretty good up to the 5th or so book the one where Whiskeyjack dies, it sadly goes downhill from there. So bloody preachy, with soldiers going spending a page or two philosophising in the midst of battle and characters who don't seem to serve any purpose other than to berate the reader for wanting bloodshed. Manages to redeem itself somewhat for the final novel, albeit with a conclusion that doesn't really offer much in the way of closure. What happened to everybody, dammit?

Oh well. On to Ian Irvine's rage inducing novels, I guess.
>> No.31248
I just finished the first book of the Foundation series by Asimov. I highly recommend it to anyone the least bit interested in scifi, it's great stuff. Especially interesting since I just got off of a Roman history binge and it was directly influenced by Gibbon's Decline and Fall.
