A fairly interesting crime drama, especially since it overturns the trope of a guy being rewarded with a girl for saving her.

Stallone's character goes death and his reward is watching the girl he loved date and marry a douchebag. So real life it hurts.

I watched Skyfall this weekend. It was pretty in line with what I expect from a Bond film, but more of an older, tireder Bond. One who's not quite on top of his game any more and is getting left behind as MI6 is adopting new technologies.

I watched Life of Pi in the cinema today. The entire auditorium was empty save for me and my parents, which was kind of interesting.

I read the book several years ago, and although a major theme is the topic of faith, and I'm not religious, I still really enjoyed the book; the movie adaptation did not disappoint. The cinematography was lovely, Pi's actor performed well, and the story was very faithful to the novel.

I guess I was somewhat surprised by how much of the movie was devoted to the exposition--the explanation of how Pi got his name, the events leading up to the shipwreck--but that wasn't a bad thing. Other niggling thought is that maybe more time should have been devoted to the part with Pi and the four animals, since that went by quite quickly. But overall, not much to complain.

Good movie, I'd recommend it.

>> No.30634

even though he got his ass beaten in the electoral vote, he only got 2% less in the popular vote. in other words, he calls 47% of the country trash and 48% of them still wanted him to lead them
>> No.30641
That's just because of how campaigns are super-focused on electoral votes because nothing else matters.
If campaigns started focusing on popular votes we'd ALL have a shittier life every 4 years as opposed to just swing states is the gist of it.
>> No.30658
Less than half of eligible voters actually voted in the election. There could have been a couple points difference in the final percentages if everyone had voted.

no, most of the time they are adults
>> No.30562
Adults, as in, physically old enough to be able to drink legally. There are plenty of 30 year-old children around.
>> No.30568
This is why I feel it's retarded to associate an age with mental sophistication, as they barely have any correlation. A non-adult person is a child. An adult who behaves like a retard is a retard.

I'm not drunk but I felt hung over this morning, even though I didn't drink any alcohol last night.

There's already an anime-cons-cosplay thread, but I'll start this one, since I'm also going to post "scans" (photographed, since I don't have a scanner handy) and photos of the even itself, as well as cosplay photos.
