It's a mosaic featuring his favorite anime. Making 3x3 mosaics of your favorite things is a 4chan fad that started maybe a couple of years ago.

I guess I can't expect this to be a popular thread, but I imagine that we could see some surprising responses.

Do you consider yourself a healthy person? Do you enjoy exercise? Do you have any fitness goals? If you work out, what is your routine? Feel free to discuss anything related to your physical well-being, or lack thereof.

Good luck, abdominal flab can be hard to get rid of. I know a couple of guys who only got rid of their love handles by waging long wars of attrition against them. It's tough, but definitely doable.

OK,I went to the gym today, but didn't know what the hell to do,so I ended up doing cardio all day.

I want a body like Zyzz, minus the ugly ass tattoos so what do I need to do?

By the way,I already have a high level of testosterone,so I won't need to abuse injections, since I realize I'll get at least one reply saying steroids.

Eat at a caloric surplus and increase the workload every time you go to the gym. Do this for a year or so.

I'm not even being facetious.

What are you reading /bun/?
Just finished After Dark, short and sweet, really liked it.
Komugi was so adorable~

I want to read some good fantasy now, probably going for a Song of Ice and Fire but recommendations are very welcome.
Or maybe I'll just read some Bukowski, I think I have a book laying around here somewhere.

Malazan Book of the Fallen

Jesus Christ that is a long series. Pretty good up to the 5th or so book the one where Whiskeyjack dies, it sadly goes downhill from there. So bloody preachy, with soldiers going spending a page or two philosophising in the midst of battle and characters who don't seem to serve any purpose other than to berate the reader for wanting bloodshed. Manages to redeem itself somewhat for the final novel, albeit with a conclusion that doesn't really offer much in the way of closure. What happened to everybody, dammit?

Oh well. On to Ian Irvine's rage inducing novels, I guess.

I just finished the first book of the Foundation series by Asimov. I highly recommend it to anyone the least bit interested in scifi, it's great stuff. Especially interesting since I just got off of a Roman history binge and it was directly influenced by Gibbon's Decline and Fall.

I-I'm sorry for butting into this thread and derailing it more, but how on earth is a 0.1 change in pH equal to 30% more acidic? There's certainly a problem with oceans becoming less alkaline due to carbonic acid, but I wonder about those percentages.

>most of the Western world countries import their food supplies from third-world countries

Third-world countries maybe wish they'd have the man by the leash like that. Food prices would be multiples of what we have now.
The EU puts so much funding into food production that they produce more than they can eat. Insane amounts of perfectly edible food are thrown away, yet there is no shortage. European farmers produce so much that the people can afford to be incredibly picky. They EXPORT chicken necks to Africa, in large amounts, and so cheaply that it completely dominates local food production, making on-site chicken farming infeasible.

Seems like a large number, but that by itself doesn't have to mean much. That's the "beauty" of percentages. Let's say you work for 0.1$ per hour. Your employer feels generous, and gives you a raise to 0.13$. That's 30% more, but you're not really any richer. However, pH works on a logarithmic scale, so that 0.1 change in a natural environment is a big deal. I have to wonder, though, why that increase in dissolved CO2 levels shouldn't lead to an increase in phytoplankton, balancing it out - as long as CO2 levels don't rise too much.
That said, some ecosystem are very sensitive to small changes, like coral reefs.

what you do is start off with 10^n representing how basic/acidic normal seawater is, then you compare it to 10^(n+0.1). This always ends up as being a 1.25 or 0.8 ratio, depending on which direction you're looking at.
They're probably saying 30% more acidic either because 30% is a better number or the ph scale is increasing at a rate of greater than 0.1 - say, 0.115.

My eBay SGS3 adventure sure is atypical to my previous experience.
On top of (>>31101), my next I9300 purchase turned out to be an I747 instead. At least it came unlocked, so I'm keeping it.

First food photography with it. I didn't realize until I had devoured the food that the photo came out blurry. Other than that, it seems to be an upgrade from my HTC Amaze's camera.

A fairly interesting crime drama, especially since it overturns the trope of a guy being rewarded with a girl for saving her.

Stallone's character goes death and his reward is watching the girl he loved date and marry a douchebag. So real life it hurts.

I watched Skyfall this weekend. It was pretty in line with what I expect from a Bond film, but more of an older, tireder Bond. One who's not quite on top of his game any more and is getting left behind as MI6 is adopting new technologies.

I watched Life of Pi in the cinema today. The entire auditorium was empty save for me and my parents, which was kind of interesting.

I read the book several years ago, and although a major theme is the topic of faith, and I'm not religious, I still really enjoyed the book; the movie adaptation did not disappoint. The cinematography was lovely, Pi's actor performed well, and the story was very faithful to the novel.

I guess I was somewhat surprised by how much of the movie was devoted to the exposition--the explanation of how Pi got his name, the events leading up to the shipwreck--but that wasn't a bad thing. Other niggling thought is that maybe more time should have been devoted to the part with Pi and the four animals, since that went by quite quickly. But overall, not much to complain.

Good movie, I'd recommend it.

even though he got his ass beaten in the electoral vote, he only got 2% less in the popular vote. in other words, he calls 47% of the country trash and 48% of them still wanted him to lead them

That's just because of how campaigns are super-focused on electoral votes because nothing else matters.
If campaigns started focusing on popular votes we'd ALL have a shittier life every 4 years as opposed to just swing states is the gist of it.

Less than half of eligible voters actually voted in the election. There could have been a couple points difference in the final percentages if everyone had voted.
