11 years after the previous true Kirby console game (14 if you count the last Kirby console game that was actually any good), we're finally getting a new true Kirby console game.

Anybody looking forward to it? I hope we're finally getting something like Kirby's Dreamland or Kirby's Super Star again.

This screen reminds me of Rainbow Resort, but we'll never get a stage like Rainbow Resort ever again ;_;

>something like Kirby's Dreamland
That would be sweet; although I like basically all the Kirby games (including the spin-offs), the very first game still remains my favorite (although I'd call The Amazing Mirror the "best" one).

Not sure what the knock on Epic Yarn is though; other than the fact that being unable to die made boss battles completely irrelevant, I thought the game was really fun--especially with two players.

Wait, I said Dreamland? I meant Adventure...

>Not sure what the knock on Epic Yarn is though; other than the fact that being unable to die made boss battles completely irrelevant, I thought the game was really fun--especially with two players.
The problem is that it wasn't a Kirby game. It had Kirby's name and Kirby as protagonist, but other than that it had nothing in common with the Kirby games. It was just a completely different game. People expected a Kirby game and got a completely unrelated platformer. I didn't like the new game, but I can imagine there are people who like it - as a stand-alone game. It just doesn't fit in the Kirby series at all.

As for 'fun with two players' - almost every game is fun with two players, even the most horrible of games. That's because it's fun to play games with two players, not necessarily because the game itself is good.

Oh wow, I didn't know you could emulate the newer consoles. Will this run on an e8400 with a 7900 gt?

I'm probably gonna wait for the inevitable Christmas sales to pick the game up. I've already downloaded it though so I'll probably try it this weekend.

Glad to see that opinions of it thus far are so positive. Can't wait to try it out.

libyan land battleship :

Onto a battlefield littered with bizarre homemade weaponry, Libya's ruling militia fighters have rolled out their weirdest contraption yet: a concrete and steel behemoth that's a cross between a bulldozer and a battleship.

The towering monster, which appeared today in Sirte to help capture Muammar Gaddafi's home town, has a battleship's pointed prow and portholes along its sides with steel covers that can be pulled down.

Clad in concrete sandwiched between steel plates, it is painted in the colours of the new national flag - red, green and black.

Built onto a tracked bulldozer in then-rebel workshops in the city of Misrata, the new weapon is designed to smash through roadblocks and barricades.

Yeah, and she's 18 in F/SN, which is 10 years after the 4th war.
So in that picture she'd be about 7/8.

How much of the Ender series have you read? I really enjoyed Ender's Game but was hugely disappointed in Speaker for the Dead and never got back to the series. It felt nothing at all like the original novel and even Ender didn't feel like Ender to me.

Does it get any better or is it all ~Space Jesus~ from now on? I mean, I realise that the author is a devout Mormon but he actually had something good going there, for a while, and it's a shame to see him attempting to turn it into a full on religious moral lesson.

I've read a bit of both the main series and the Bean spin-off, but I was never as impressed by them as the first book.

In my mind Ender's Game stands above them as one of the books I'm glad I've read, while the others are just passable. Nothing wrong with them, they just feel like a different series. And they never evoked the same feel that Ender's Game did.

There's a lot of classic science fiction I still need to read, and oddly enough I haven't read anything on the left side (unless getting partway through Watership Down counts).

>>22215
The whole story gets really ridiculous by the end of Children of the Mind, and for entirely different reasons than the Space Jesus thing. I'll still read the next installment if Card ever gets around to writing it, though

Sure, why not. Didn't mark some stuff cause I just don't remember it well enough to say whether I read it.
Looks like there's a few things on the left I might try, sci-fi on the other hand doesn't interest me much.
