If you're like me, you use the internet a lot. So much in fact, that you use little programs or scripts to ease the process. In this channel, we will share our tools either self-developed or developed by some kind and generous e-fellow.Miscellaneous tips and tricks are fine too as long as it helps you while netting.
Pixiv Downloader (current version 20200722) allows you to download images from Pixiv using a member id, image id, or tags. For member id, it'll allow you to download all of a specific member's images. Image id, from what I understand, is largely useless since you can easy save the one image, but the option is there. Tag downloading works (ASCII searches only), but requires you to hit enter in between each artist so it can become quite tedious. There's also a list system to queue and update on certain members and it requires that you add the member id to the list.txt which you must create. In summary, this is best used for member batch downloads, but more updates are on the way.Link: http://nandaka.wordpress.com/2010/07/20/pixiv-downloader-20200720/
Danbooru Downloader (current version 20100722) is from the same e-friend as Pixiv Downloader and does more than what its name implies. Danbooru Downloader allows you to batch download images based on tags for the following sites: danbooru, sanakucomplex, idol.sankakucomplex, konachan, moe.imouto, gelbooru, nekobooru, safebooru, hijiribe, sonohara, and ichijou. It comes with the ability to construct query lists and image previews. I used to use the script from Granola, but am very satisfied by DD. It's much easier to use due to its actual GUI. More updates possibly on the way.Link: http://nandaka.wordpress.com/2010/07/23/danbooru-downloader-20100722/
Not sure if anyone here wouldn't know this, but on the off chance that some of you are unaware...Incorporating the "site:" function in your Google searching will change your life forever. You simply place a domain name after the colon, and search for a string of text. Google will restrict your searches to that site. Most notably, "site:mediafire.com", "site:megaupload.com", et al. will allow you to search for uploaded files using Google. This is one of the best ways to find media that is around 100 MB or less. Mediafire has somewhat recently had its size limit increased to 200 MB. Sometimes, you can also find larger files split into a series of smaller .RARs.For a basic example, use the following link:http://www.google.com/search?btnG=1&pws=0&q=site%3Amediafire.com+C77+%E6%9D%B1%E6%96%B9

I'm sure every FF user already has this, buthttps://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/downloads/latest/93451/addon-93451-latest.xpi?src=addondetailAdds right-click iqdb search options.Real handy.
What do they call ________ in moon? Translation utilities be damned.Find it in Wikipedia, and then click the 日本語 link under the Languages list in the left frame.
Ah, a convenient thing to do when you want to post an image from another site on some imageboard like this one would be to just post the image url directly into your file name field when you hit [choose file]. It may be obvious, but I no longer have to do silly things like save an image on my computer, upload it, and delete.
>>11136Huh, I never knew you could do that. But I'll be saving images anyways if I find them to be worth reposting.
I wish this thread was more active.Been using the following to search for music on Google when I'm at the computer lab.-inurl:(htm|html|php) intitle:"index of" +"last modified" +"parent directory" +description +size +(wma|mp3) "Nirvana"Obviously it should work with other kinds of files by changing the wma|mp3 part and putting the desired name on "Nirvana", that's just the example used at the website I found this useful little tip on.
>>23059For the sake of streamlining you could leave out those + symbols since Google recently gave their functionality to quotes.
This is great if you're going to read a lot of text in your browser, or if you just feel like being all eco.Make a new bookmark, and paste in this as the address: javascript: (function(){ var newSS, styles='* { background: black ! important; color: lightgray !important } :link, :link * { color: #0000EE !important } :visited, :visited * { color: #551A8B !important }'; if(document.createStyleSheet) { document.createStyleSheet("javascript:'"+styles+"'"); } else { newSS=document.createElement('link'); newSS.rel='stylesheet'; newSS.href='data:text/css,'+escape(styles); document.getElementsByTagName("head")[0].appendChild(newSS); } } )();If you click it while on a website, the background becomes black and the text light grey. Pretty neat, huh? So much easier on the eyes, and your screen will use less energy to boot! To return the colours to normal, just press F5.
>>23067I'm pretty sure that only CRT, RGB LED backlit LCD, OLED and other minority display technologies save energy while displaying black, and it is not the case for the most common type of displays: CCFL backlit LCD and LED backlit LCD.Otherwise, activating javascript through bookmark is pretty neat though.
>>23068>it is not the case for the most common type of displays: CCFL backlit LCD and LED backlit LCD.Fie, I didn't know that. And here I thought I was saving the planet!
>>23075Most of the things people do to 'save the planet' don't really help or are sometimes even counterproductive. 'Hey, let's all turn off everything for one minute and then turn it all back on again at the same time, I'm sure nothing bad will happen because turning on stuff takes more electricity than leaving it on!
>>23091Things like Earth Hour sicken me somewhat. It's gross how people will pretend they care about the environment for a minute and then go back to consuming energy as before, just to feel better about themselves. You'd think that we'd just outright ban oil if we really cared about the planet, but nope. Doesn't matter that one billion people starve to death every second as long as I'm full!I'm feeling slightly peckish though, maybe I'll drive ten meters down to the Burger King and buy a whopper made out of chopped down rainforest and a coke brewed from panda tears.
>>23075Well I said that based on what I remember from 3~4 years back when I was reading about how blackle.com is only useful for CRT.
4CHAN PLUS FOR GOOGLE CHROMEOH MY GOD, SO HELPFULIT EVEN WORKS HEREAlso, alt+click saves full size image has significantly improved my quality of life. And raped the organization of my computer.
>>232794Chan Plus is quite nice, but not having backlinking is a deal breaker. The dev has been promising an update for at least half a year, but it still hasn't been updated.
>>23283Dem separate backlinking-and-things-related extensions
Anyone have the link to the latest version of 4chan x/y/z/whatever? I've been out of the loop for some times, and now I found that my version doesn't work anymore.
>>23311http://aeosynth.github.com/4chan-x/
>>23279I haven't found a way on how to make it work on sites other than 4chan; how did you do it?
For the first time I encountered a Japanese site that blocks foreigners. What can I do to bypass this? I don't know where else to ask (´・ω・`) please help me.
