Does anybody else in /bun/ play roguelikes?I've been playing a lot of ADOM recently. It's a lot of fun (easily my favorite roguelike), but sometimes it gets really brutal. Pic related. I stumbled upon a lesser vault filled with troll kings and berserker lords. In the process of running away, an acid vortex came and fucked my shit up. The worst part was that I had an amulet of life saving in my inventory that I was saving for Khelly. orz
I played a bit of ADOM as well, but I mainly played lots and lots and LOTS of Ragnarok. I managed to reach the final map twice; I got killed there once, and the other time I waited and got a bad end for not completing the missions.Castle of the Winds is technically also a roguelike (despite allowing you to load any save at any time and not having the weird game balance real roguelikes have), played that a lot too many years ago. Also, played ChessRogue yet? It's also not a real roguelike, but it's pretty nice.
I got into roguelikes in the past year or two from the Elona threads on /jp/. Recently I've been playing a lot of Nethack, but I'll probably move on to something else before I get any farther than the tenth level. orzDesktop Dungeons is fun, Roguelike-Lite. I've been playing some of that too.>>12735I remember CotW being that one game I would always have on my computer but I could never understand it as a kid. I downloaded it recently just to see what it's like again and I still can't get into it.
