Place your bets now: When will the China-Japan war start?
>> No.13093
China will declare war on the USA, and Japan will side with the USA.
>> No.13099
China won't attack anyone. They were never a country that invaded others(some exceptions) or tried to conquer.

inb4 Vietnam, Tibet etc

China never had a thirst for conquering.

If this post was on 4chan I'd expect a whole shitstorm to arise from it.

Anyway, OP, I don't think that any wars between two modernised countries will occur anytime soon (in my uninformed line of thought). Its as likely as Britain going to war with Germany. Why would China want to go to war with Japan? For land? To plunder and rape its population? To feel powerful? It has much more to gain from peaceful trading than an EXTREMELY costly, dehibilitating war, which would bring nuclear arms and embargoes and other countries into it not to mention cost lots of money to arm men.

A war between Taiwan and China is more likely, but it'd probably be something more like a police action similar to Russia and Georgie rather than a 'war'.

Because there's a territorial dispute over the Senkaku Islands which has been heating up recently.

China demands acknowledgement that the Senkaku Islands are Chinese territory and compensation from Japan for arresting somebody in 'their territory'. Protests have been popping up and Chinese discrimination has increased in Japan and vice versa.

How so anyway? I stopped going to /int/ awhile ago if you meant having that posted in /int/.

Also, I don't understand how they could hate each other. Japan was basically just Chinese people who moved to those islands.

Its sort of like Britain and America.

I think China/Taiwan has the right to fight for those islands. Those islands are very far away from Japan. Its as outrageous as Britain laying claim to the Falkland Islands as a former colonial outpost.
