lurk moar

I, um, I don't really know what to say, anon. I have 'lurked' here since not long after the board was created, so it feels rather ironic to be told to do so by someone who does not really seem to understand the local board culture.

Please, have a seat. I'll explain. This board was originally created by people from /jp/ who felt their board culture was being corrupted by the endless influx of new posters 4chan brings. You see, /jp/ originally had a board culture that was very different from the rest of the site, actively rejecting memes and conventions from the other boards. However, as more people started posting on /jp/, these aspects of the board culture were eroded and eventually lost altogether.

The board you are currently on maintains many of the ideals /jp/ once held, refusing to adopt memes and other conventions from the wider internet that are seen as detrimental for good conversation. Although phrases like 'moar of this' may be convenient to type, they lack information and connotations that would be present in ordinary conversation: "Could you post more of these Clarissa comics? I can't find them anywhere.", or "Do you know any comics that are similar in style and subject matter to the comics you posted?".

While it would be easier to just respond in modern 4chan style by typing 'lol faggot' or posting only an image containing an ad hominem, it is preferred on this board to engage in constructive conversation, so that everybody involved may learn something or at least be amused.

To answer your original question, I'm afraid I don't have any Clarissa comics other than the ones posted by the original poster, though I did search for the author's name once and found that he also made other more popular comics besides Clarissa, which may be of interest to you.

Doesn't change the fact that most /jp/ers originally came from boards like /a/, /v/, and /b/ before /jp/ was created in 2008. Or did you only find 4chan after /jp/ was made?

I'm not even >>34871 , I just felt nostalgic seeing someone use the word "moar".

I became active on 4chan late 2008, so yes, /jp/ has always been my native board with no board before it.

But no, the original /jp/ posters did not come from "/a/, /v/, and /b/"; they came solely from /a/. /jp/'s creation is rarely called 'creation' but usually a 'split' for that reason; it was a new board for a large group of people that were on /a/ at the time. People from /v/ didn't join until later, and /b/ is hardly related at all (unless you're referring to the original /b/ from a long time ago, but there were only a handful of people from back then on /jp/ and I'm not sure if any are on /bun/), only bringing over some newbies during the summer, almost all of which leave again when summer ends.

I know 'moar' is from before /jp/'s creation, but even so, /jp/ rejected all memes from other boards (it had own memes but most weren't universally accepted), even those considered 'classic' by other boards.
