This is a photograph with a special history to it.

It was posted at wtfux.org in late 2005, sometime around August or September. Then, on the 9th of September 2005, it was saved by somebody and used as a wallpaper.

That same person later went on to make a popular flash animation, "monsquaz.swf", using this picture as a background in one of the scenes. If you've ever seen "monsquaz.swf", you may recognize this picture.

Interesting, but what I'd like to know more about is "Monsquaz". Why did the guy create it? WTF is it about?

Around 2005, the person who made the flash was friends with another guy who called himself 'Monsquaz'.

In October 2005, the guy who called himself Monsquaz was trying to start a new meme in /b/ of 4chan. He posted on /b/ a picture of a male model he made using Poser (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poser).
The model was a naked man with an erection, a suggestive pose, and ridiculous facial expression.
Monsquaz showed this picture to the one who made the flash movie, who thought it was hilarious and decided to save it.
After thinking through different ideas, he finally decided to make an animation featuring Monsquaz's picture and a song he had written a month earlier. That song was called "Cyan Helkaraxe riding in the Tour de France".

The original MIDI file is available here: http://iiichan.net/boards/music/src/CyanHelkaraxe_ridingintheTourDeFrance.mid

Also featured in monsquaz.swf is a young boy of about 18, who appears at the sides of the screen. This is Deven Gallo, who was an acquaintance of the one who made the flash movie.

"Monsquaz.swf" is all about a 3D man who moves up and down with the arrows, dances in the sunset, and zooms in during the flashing colours and expanding and contracting circles.

Monsquaz is a video representing our modern society's obsession with sex and the meaningless of casual sex. In the original, uncensored video, the protagonist, Monsquaz, is fully nude, showing his erect penis to the world, which highlights are culture's lack of shame in nudity. He is bald, which could be a stab at people afflicted with baldness. The part with the arrows and Monsquaz going up represents the buildup to sexual intercourse, better known as "getting it up."
>> No.7557
The part with the sky background and the two men refers to the actual act itself, the old in-and-out. Monsquaz's partner is invisible, showing our disregard for who are sexual partners are. The final part, with the arrows going down, refers to the time after sexual intercourse, when everything "goes down". However, this is not meant as an innuendo, but to point out the shame from having casual sex. Notice that it loops infinitely, showing how we move from one partner to the next.

All in all, Monsquaz is truly a masterpiece of our times, one of the greatest works of art from this century.

I have a scheduled task on my computer set to run every morning. I wake up to the beautiful sounds of monsquaz.swf.

I believe Monsquaz is an allegory for the ideal outlook on life.

His face is forever gleeful but curious, as though the world were a mystery waiting to unravel and every new twist or turn could only be a new source of joy.

He stands naked to the world, hiding nothing in the darkness of shame. The light covers his body and he is not afraid.

His erect penis expresses a literal lust for life. That part of our body that seeks physical attachment and pleasure in flesh just as our minds and hearts seek the same in truth and love.

Monsquaz has his highs and his lows, his green and red arrows. When things are good, it is a time to dance with our friends under the morning sky and celebrate the dawning of a new day, the power of our lives and the boundless happiness to be found in the people and world around us.

But those red arrows must come, as well, for when we are laid low by chance or misadventure, we learn our most valuable lessons and are given a chance to renew our drive to improve ourselves and our appreciation for the things that bring us happiness.

Only after the red arrows do we really grow.

Not a troll, just a short explanation of one of the works of 'dusthillguy', a man with a unique sense of humour and instantly recognisable music style.
