So apparently reCAPTCHA v3 (currently in beta) will remove challenges altogether and just give you a score based your site activity how well you're tracked by Google (duh) to instantly fail or accept. Looks like my score is 0.1 (auto-fail) due to blocking stuff that invades my privacy and not having a Google account, so soon enough a significant part of the internet will become unusable for me.

What a wonderful future we've chosen for ourselves.

They've been doing that for a while now.

Just try to use a "non-mainstream" web browser, such as sea monkey.

You will always have 3-5 layers of image tests before you can submit one capcha, whereas with something like Firefox you will generally have something like a 25%-50% to not need a verification, and in the event that you do, it's 1-2 layers of image tests at most.

You, perhaps, but not me. Don't drag me into that choice, I wasn't involved in any of that decision process.

Otherwise, another reason to switch your ad blocker to Ad Naseum. Block ads in a way that hits Google's bottom line and fucks with their automated tracking systems with fake clicks on every ad.

You don't get it. They're going to remove the image tests entirely, and in cases where you got a whole bunch of tests in a row previously it will now just say you're a bot and not allow you to do whatever you needed to fill in the captcha for. Only people who could pass with a single test or no test previously will still be able to access reCAPTCHA-protected content.

Neither was I. But as a society, we decided we should give Google all of our data AND give them control over who gets to access what. Now they leverage the latter to make sure everybody conforms to the former.

That implies you'll be fine. Are you really using uMatrix? Google seems to react pretty badly to having all of its stuff blocked everywhere.

I get the same score, using only ublock on Chrome and signed into a youtube google account. So his settings are probably fucked.

I conveniently reinstalled firefox on my laptop just a couple months ago because I figured out I could have multiple accounts on ylilauta if I used multiple browsers. I have used FF for not too much else since the initial install, but I had definitely used google's search engine via FF and maybe youtube too, but neither with a logged in account.
I got 0.9 with FF that way
After turning off all of the cookie options & deleting my existing cookies and checking via VPN I got 0.1
Then I turned off the VPN and got 0.1 again. Then I turned the VPN back on to make this post.
Last night I copypasta'd this thread to /g/ and they are still talking about it thread/67811069

You have Google cookies enabled. They are unnecessary for reCAPTCHA but allow Google to track your activity, raising your score.

When is the V3 implementation? Recently I've been having to solve captchas instead of just clicking and getting the checkmark, but maybe it's just paranoia and confirmation biases.

right, give google the benefit if the doubt and blame yourself instead. because google has prove itself so trustworthy in the past.
