A new year and a new anime season.

I probably said this 10 years ago when this chart format appeared, but fancy css that cuts off the text descriptions is beyond useless.
>no yuru camp ova
I thought we were getting it this year. Oh well, guess there's always 2023

If you know of a better chart tell me.

Absolutely nothing of interest for me. Someone just put a gun to my head and shoot me.

well, it is winter season. Usually half of it is part 2's and meh-level fanservice/fujishi shows to keep stuff on the airwaves block allotments until Spring season starts up.

I'll watch GFL out of obligation, at least for a few episodes.
I'll give Saiyuuki RELOADED a chance, It certainly won't fill the natsume Yuuichi gap in my heart, but if it comes anywhere in the ballpark then I'll probably watch it through.

I watched the first episode of Girls Frontline. As expected from the preview the budget was around $0.10. They did spend one of their precious five keyframes showing Agent's panties though, which is all you can hope for... and yeah, they just mirrored this shot, it's so fucking cheap and lazy.

I was also surprised by the overall cheapness and lack of detail in the character movement. It stands out super hard against the mostly well animated intro and ED, too.
A lot of the griffon dolls like like still images glued to a popsickle stick moving up and down, and lots of cheap and borderline QUALITY moments in the zoomed out shots that show full body movement. Not the best impression from the flagship episode for the series.

While the "stop attacking mid-fight to drop expository or quips" trope makes some semblance of plausibility with sword fights, it is absolutely shit with gun fights.
>Hero-kun fires 3 shots, graze an arm of the enemy
>Enemy goes NANI!? and turns to hero, weapons aimed
>hero goes on a rant
>Enemy sits there and does nothing
>hero starts shooting again
>Enemy dies or moves/repositions and then starts a rant of their own
>hero sits there and waits for the rant to end
>enemy starts firing

It's so fuckin' painful and makes no sense..... I would hope that they would haven taken a hint from Black lagoon and have the characters yell at each other from behind cover or only during the mexican stand-off portions, but I doubt that is going to change.

I'll give this another episode, perhaps two, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to last until the obligatory ep 4 animation quality drop.

"It really was a Girls' Frontline"

You really hit the nail on the head. It's even dumber in this episode, the "brilliant plan" is for everyone to stand in a circle around Scarecrow and shoot her...
