So what does /bun/ think about the Euro crisis.
Should we just convert to socialism, or..?

I stopped following news when I realized the world was just going to get worse and the only way out was suicide.

The world is in dire need of far more drastic measures than even the most extreme of the European social democratic parties are capable of providing. It's a shame that we're not going to get that since we threw out the leftist baby with the totalitarian bathwater during the Cold War.

When the biggest chance for revolution especially in the third world is coming from Islamists rather than socialists, you know something has gone horribly wrong. RIP any chance of the world getting better for anyone other than the 1% who own everything.

Too bad there aren't any real communist parties in Europe today!
The whole Euro thing is kind of unsettling. I mean, I don't like Berlusconi or anything, but the EU just kicked him out and put in an economist with no real political experience instead? So much for democracy, I guess.

The Corporate State and its Organization (p. 133)

The corporate State considers that private enterprise in the sphere of production is the most effective and usefu [sic] [typo-should be: useful] instrument in the interest of the nation. In view of the fact that private organisation of production is a function of national concern, the organiser of the enterprise is responsible to the State for the direction given to production.

State intervention in economic production arises only when private initiative is lacking or insufficient, or when the political interests of the State are involved. This intervention may take the form of control, assistance or direct management.

It would have prevented the Depression Era stock crash, though.

What, fascism?
Maybe, but at what cost?
>> No.23403
It would probably prevented the recent financial crisis as well, and the Euro crisis.
I don't know why we let people trade stocks, it regularly destroys everything for everyone. Except for the stock traders themselves, of course.

Socialism is basically same, but without all the crazy. It works great in my country!

Yeah, but banker's bonuses are at risk of rising by LESS than the rate of inflation!

In my country (USA) the unemployment rate is going down. Sucks to be you, lol

>In my country (USA)

It's easy enough to guess where you're from based on your stance towards communism. Must suck to be indoctrinated.

Just for the record I was born (and live) in a post communistic country so obviously I was fed the same propaganda you were fed (by my parents no less) and I still managed to break free from this indoctrionation so you are in no way justified to choose to remain blind.

I'm not saying I'm for implementing communism. I think fundamentally it's a great idea but humans are a factor you can't control (a shitty one at that) which is why communism absolutely can't work in any real setting.

I am jokingly quoting Liberty Prime from Fallout 3. It's a robot built to fight communism and has some really great quotes, go watch it in an LP on youtueb or something. As American as it gets!

I think democratic socialism is the way to go, at least until they invent perfect robot overlords.

Actually, if you by GDP per capita I live in one of the world's richest country (richer than you even!) And this is also the one of the few nations that has seen the gap between rich and poor decrease the last couple of years.
Even so, I still, you know, care about people outside the border. I'm worried, and also in the minority. There aren't many who give two shits about the Euro crisis here either.

To be fair, Communism has never been implemented the way Marx wanted it. So we technically don't know if it actually works.
>> No.23566
Communism was never really implemented and handled properly because we are human, and I don't believe that it is possible to do so.
Just out of curiosity, which country do you live in?

I'm pretty sure you know this, but according to Marx's theory of history societies go through five distinct phases. He meant that stable socialism and communism could only come after capitalism. This has never happened. Even Russia was basically a feudal state before the revolution.
Most of the countries in the EU are therefore prime candidates for becoming commie nations. To bad that, as mentioned earlier, no real communist parties with enough support exist today. Most of the alleged "communist" parties are only that in name, even the Russian one. I mean, the Albaninan communist party wants to get into the EU. You can probably thank the Marshall Plan for this, thanks USA!
The human factor might be too crippling to allow the "pure communism" Lenin dreamt of, but I think radical socialism should be possible. I still have a sliver of faith in humanity left.

I live in Norway, great country, but I think we've been getting a little too "drunk on peace" lately.
